Big Dog was a right choice to select for this work. Form the free estimate to the start of the work they were continuously in communication on exactly what needed to be done, when it will start, and when the project will be completed. The work was done on time as scheduled and it came out perfect. I couldn't be happier with the work they did. The times I had a question and called the office, they answered their phone quickly and was able to answer any of my questions. Definitely recommend BIg Dog services to anyone.
As Fairfax County residents we need to stand up to contractors who are trying to swindle us out of our hard earned money. Headaches, scams, lies, just some of things Ive experienced dealing with this company. I thought we had an understanding when we shook hands and I signed the contract. I hired this company to replace my driveway, but when they were finished I found they only replaced approx. 80% of the driveway as they don’t consider the collar part of the driveway. If you google driveway collar its definition is “part of the driveway”. They told me in Virginia it is not part of the driveway, which is absurd because throughout Virginia and the rest of the USA its called the driveway collar, how can it be called the driveway collar but not be part of the driveway? Anyways, I tried to reason with them and paid them for 90% of the unfinished project, even though they only completed 80% of the project. But they are still sending me bills for the last 10%. So now I have to come on these review sites to try and warn others about how they will tell you one thing, but hide behind jargon and fine print on contracts to try and get out of what was agreed upon during the estimate meetings. I even gave them pictures of what my HOA approved, showing the entire driveway was to be replaced, not just to the driveway collar, and they claim the pictures weren’t on the contract so they’re not liable. They also tore up approx. 1000 sq ft of my lawn surrounding where they worked, which I had to pay to repair. So once again, if you don’t want to have to deal with consumer affairs, better business bureau and small claims court to try and get this company to stop trying to squeeze money out of you for work they didn’t do, then I would avoid Big Dog Concrete.
I can't say enough how positive our experience has been, was with Big Dog. From day one on project plan and quote to finish, there are a few things that really stood out. First, communications. At any point I felt well assured the project was running smooth, as I received daily updates from the Project Foreman and the Staff at their HQ. Additionally any questions I had were answered quickly with the utmost politeness. Second, the team and foreman owned the project. I saw the same fellows daily, everyone was very nice, and they really respected the property. The team seemed more critical of their own work at times as well, which means they are very proud of their work and it shows. Third, the experience of the team really shows. There were areas and conditions I was sure would pose problems, and they didn't even cross the crew as remotely a challenge. Also a great sign of experience is recommending solutions, but not high cost solutions. When quoting, there was never a push for an extra or unnecessary item. Options were presented, and that is just good honest work. Overall, Big Dog is a group of flat out professionals who have seen many many jobs, and again just do top notch work. I could not recommend them higher.
Big Dog replaced our entire driveway nearly a year ago. They did a great job! About 9 months after, I noticed some small imperfections that needed to be addressed. I called and they responded immediately. They sent a team to the house that power washed the entire driveway and then did minor repairs on the imperfections. If I didn’t show you the areas they repaired, you would never notice them. Great job on the initial driveway replacement and fantastic follow-up!! You should use Big Dog!!
I recently had my concrete driveway re-done, and I am really really happy with Big Dog Construction, from start to finish! They were very easy to schedule the initial appointment, their estimate for the entire job was reasonable, their work was very professional and done well. Then after the job, the company called to remind me about not parking on the driveway, and to make sure I was happy with the job or if I had any questions or concerns. I recommend this company 100%.
