These guys recently replaced an old concrete driveway for us and it looks great. David was great to work with, he had several ideas that made the project better than the old driveway. Ana was also easy to work with, very responsive. I would recommend this company for any concrete work.

Appalachian Excavation & Concrete did a great job for us! They installed a flagstone path of stepping stones and built an awesome set of steps made of natural flagstone. They also demolished and rebuilt two concrete patios, including stamping, staining, and sealing.We had multiple companies come out and quote, and they were the only ones who brought up the fact that a drainage pipe used to drain directly onto one of our patios. They installed a solution to bury the pipe under the patio and send the water out to a more appropriate part of the yard.They were very professional and addressed every question or concern we had, often going above and beyond what we needed.Their prices seemed fair compared to the other companies we spoke to -- not the highest, not the lowest, but fair.We would definitely hire them again should the need arise.
Highly recommend!! We couldn’t be happier with the work we received from David and the team at Appalachian Excavation and Concrete. I received 4 different estimates for my driveway extension and patio addition before hand. Not only was Appalachian’s estimate one of the more affordable quotes, they stuck to it. More importantly, the work they did was top of the line!! It all looks perfect and is extremely structurally sound! They also were able to do it much quicker than I imagined. Not to mention how flexible David was with making adjustments the day of, to make sure we were completely happy with all aspects of the project. He also had some ideas to help make our driveway even better, in regards to adjusting our downspout to our gutters for proper drainage. They added a drain pipe under the concrete so that water from our gutters would flow out to the street drain instead of into our yard, which could have caused flooding. The whole experience with Appalachian has gone above our expectations, and I can’t say enough good things about the work and the company. We will be using them for any other concrete jobs in the future and recommending them to anyone we know that needs work done. Appalachian Excavation & Concrete surpassed my expectations and left me in awe with their work ethic, quality of workmanship, vision, and dedication. We got five quotes before choosing this company, and they were within range of the others (not the least expensive and not the most expensive) but provided a fair bid on our project and offered the best options in materials, knowledge, and solution. We needed to demolish and widen our entire driveway, replace old railroad tie retaining walls, and install drainage. David offered a solution and plan that ultimately elevated the functionality and aesthetic of our entire project. He considered design details, such as using a textured design pad to make the front of our concrete steps look chiseled and blended beautifully with the block walls he installed. He added elements we never would have considered and made us love the outcome. David and Ana worked with us patiently, even through the permit process with the city. I’m just beyond grateful for all of their care and level of professionalism. I highly recommend them and their amazing crew! Thank you so much!! We love our driveway (and so do all our neighbors)!!
