Our back porch had been showing cracks in the mortar for a while and we finally decided to deal with it before winter. We reached out to a few masonry companies in Chicago and Edgeway was one of the quicker ones to respond with a detailed estimate. The initial visit was useful because the owner walked around the whole structure and pointed out a few areas we hadn't even noticed yet, like where water was getting behind some loose bricks near the base. Once we agreed on the scope, they scheduled us about three weeks out which worked fine for us. The crew was efficient and worked through some pretty cold mornings without complaints. They repointed the entire back wall and replaced several bricks along the bottom course that were cracked through. The mortar they used is a really close match to the existing color, which matters on a visible wall like that. Took about five days total and the porch looks solid heading into winter now.
