Greg and his crew built a second project for us in Vilonia. A commercial retail building with floor space and storage space for a total of 5000 sq feet. Again, always responsive to any needs we had.
Greg Hiegel of Hiegel Construction was the Construction Superintendent when we built a new Central Fire Station in Orange, Texas. In my 53 years in the Department and 25 of them as the Fire Chief, this project was one of the three major construction projects that I undertook during my tenure as the Chief of the Department. This was a 5 million dollar project and the largest that I had ever overseen. From the day I met Greg, he made me feel comfortable that everything was going to go smooth, as he would see to it personally. He could have spoken no truer words! Greg was a stickler for detail and left no stone unturned as we constructed the building. He had control of the subcontractors as if he was leading an orchestra. In the entire project, there was only one "change order" and that was due to an addition that we added to the project after construction started. Even with that change, the building costs came in under budget and the project was completely in less than 10 months. When Greg started Hiegel Construction in his hometown, I knew without a doubt that he would succeed. His attention to detail and outstanding customer service in today's market make him a true anomaly, yet a feature people are looking for in construction.
