I had a cracked foundation / water leak and Charlie quickly identified the issue and installed an internal fix and resealed the exterior foundation. Excellent work. He also installed new drainage lines to get the roof runoff away from the house. Lastly he removed and replaced our front door steps which had sunken over the years. Again, Excellent work along with a very friendly / courteous personality.
Charlie came out on a weekend and explained in detail why water was leaking into my basement. He was back on Tuesday to dig down to the top of footer, clean the wall off, seal around septic line, put water proofing membrane on the wall and fill back in and grade perfectly. Satisfied and grateful repeat clientWe first utilized Structural Masonry and Charlie Rivenbark fifteen years ago to address the destructive effects of marine clay pressure on our house’s foundation. The basement walls were badly bowed in with numerous long horizontal cracks. They installed steel support beams, rebuilt the damaged walls, removed the marine clay, and also installed a walk-out window. As shown in the (fully painted) photos, this work looks as good and sturdy today as it did when it was done.Our only regret was not having them do the full circumference of our basement job back then. In the years since, another section of our basement foundation developed the same cracks and bowing so we called Charlie back. Just like last time, he not only did excellent work according to the plan, but went above and beyond to manage all aspects of the project. He navigated the City permitting process and coordinated the remediation design plans with a professional engineer (part of the required process) which allowed those tedious aspects to be painless for us. Then when he got started and the wall partially collapsed (it turned out to be compromised even worse than expected), he handled the additional work in stride. He rebuilt the wall in place, re-sleeved the sump pump well, and even added a plumbing break in a main sewer line to get one of the beams into a tight spot. He also again removed the problematic marine clay from outside this part of the basement wall and applied waterproofing to the foundation. It was a complete and most thorough job, done to the highest standards with the least possible burden on us, and with superior communication throughout the process. He deconflicted his work with other contractors we had concurrently rebuild our deck, sill plate, and siding, and he even jumped in to pour a concrete step (needed due to the new deck being smaller) and patch a hole in the foundation our A/C installers had left behind. We could not recommend Charlie any more highly!!The pictures of the recent work do not show paint on the wall or steel beams yet. He will do that when the mortar and concrete have fully cured.
Structural Masonry Services - Charlie Rivenbark - exceptional work. When I met with Charlie, he listened attentively and recapped in his words what I was looking for. He gave me pros and cons and came up with a solution that was not only beneficial, but done superbly. He didn't just do a good job, he had quite a mess to clean up from a contractor that really made a mess of things.
