Jon and Jamie Thornton on T and D Concrete and Construction

I have known Terry Ducksworth for almost 20 years. But I would not recommend him to anyone to do a job involving concrete. If you have any questions you could come by and look at my driveway and you will see that he is not good at completing a job. He will take your deposit and he will ask for additional money because he has problems with his truck or equipment and he will ask you to buy him equipment that he loaned to someone and they didn’t give back. He will talk to you about going to church and problems with his family situation, but he will not finish your concrete job. Be warned to avoid this company at all cost

3 months and nothing. Area was dug out and forms laid down but not correct. 4 inches out of square and slope incorrect. Water draining towards the house. Doesn't show up at scheduled date or time. Finally had to fire him and get it done right. Still waiting for 3 weeks for him to come get his harbor freight tools.

Frequently Asked Questions

Typical work includes driveways, patios, sidewalks, small slabs, and related site prep. The scope can also include removing damaged concrete and replacing it with new flatwork. For larger or specialized structures, availability may depend on schedule and crew size. Provide project details to receive a tailored estimate.

After discussing your project, you can receive an estimate outlining basic scope and expected costs. Timelines depend on weather, material availability, and site conditions. It helps to confirm start dates, milestones, and payment terms in writing. Any changes should be documented before additional work begins.

Flatwork typically includes planning for appropriate slope away from structures. Before pouring, confirm elevations and drainage paths on the layout. If your site has specific water issues, consider a pre-pour walk-through to verify grading. Photos or a simple sketch can also help align expectations.

Clear vehicles, debris, and personal items from the work area and ensure access for equipment. Mark utilities or call to have them located if needed. Discuss any tree roots, irrigation, or hidden obstructions that may affect excavation. Confirm where wash-out and material staging can occur.

Request a written scope describing thickness, reinforcement, control joints, and finish. Ask for a pre-pour check of forms, measurements, and slopes. Set communication check-ins for key milestones like formwork, reinforcement, and pour day. Keep all change approvals and payments documented.
