Reviews frequently highlight successful mortar and brick matching, clear communication, and responsive scheduling. Several customers mention efficient turnaround on repairs like tuckpointing, chimneys, and small rebuilds. A minority review notes concerns about quality control and weather timing on a concrete pour, while most others describe consistent workmanship and courteous crews.
Augustin and his crew did an excellent job with tuck pointing, replacing a handful of split bricks, and installing helical ties. They were super quick, their quality is great, and they were able to closely match our existing mortar. Communication was great and pricing was transparent. We'll definitely hire them again when we're ready to re-do our chimney. Highly recommend!
We were doing an addition to our home and having issues with another brick mason trying to match our existing brick mortar on the original part of our house. After struggling with them for 3 weeks, we had Brick Master come in and they had the mortar matched and the job done in 1 week. Brick Master did a fantastic job for us and we would certainly use them again! The brick on the right of the patio is the addition.
Brickmasters did a great job. Fixed our chimney. Did tuck pointing on the home. Built a beautiful walkway and patio. Great to work with, very kind and responsive to our requests.
Augustine’s work has a serious lack of quality control. From start to finish, my project was riddled with problems, all of which could have been avoided if any quality control steps had been taken. Here’s a breakdown of the issues:His crew decided to pour my large patio in the pouring rain, which I specifically asked him not to do. My request was ignored and the patio was poured. This has lead to issues with the finished look. The grading of my patio is wrong, so the water drains towards the house instead of away from it, so every time it rains/snows my patio turns into a puddle of trapped water. My pillar base was poured wrong and instead of simply redoing the small 2’x2’ base, Augustine instead just “shaved” it down. This left a broken, hole filled base to my pillar that looks awful.Augustine said his crew could pipe the electrical wires through the pillars for us, so our electrician could install the lights. On the day his crew came, they said they don’t do that, so my husband had to leave work, go to the hardware store for the supplies, and do all the piping himself.Half the stone tops we ordered arrived the wrong color of stone and Augustine refused to install the correct ones we had until everything arrived because he said he “didn’t want to send his crew over twice”. Of course they were out of stock, so he made us wait weeks for the install and the front of our house looked awful. It was such poor and frustrating customer service. In the end, Augustine said he “knew it wasn’t A+ work, but it was at least B- work and that my expectations were too high”. His solution, after much perseverance on my end, was to offer $500 off my $15,000 bill, which he said was a “big discount”….this infuriated me even more.Don’t do business with this guy, he absolutely does not care about the quality of his work and won’t do anything to truly solve for an issue…..he’ll just tell you that the problem with his work is your expecting it to be A+. Why would anyone expect anything other than A+ work from someone they paid a lot of $$$$$ to?! I’m now stuck with a patio that doesn’t drain and looks terrible and I got the joy of paying a whooping $14,500 for it.
These guys did a great job! Our mailbox was the victim of a hit and run. I contacted several masonry contractors; Augustine was the most responsive and his bid was competitive. The job was finished within two weeks. It could have been completed sooner, but we wanted a custom stone address placard and a custom stone top. This mailbox is far nicer than our old mailbox, even before it was hit. I've included before and after photos. Highly recommend.
