My BAD experience with Bloc Tech Inc.I had four estimates done. Two companies said they didn't repair cracks between the bricks but filled all the bricks. I just wanted to repair the cracks. I hired Bloc Tech, which I trusted. Quote: $3,500.They set up, and one of the partners started and said to me, "Ma'am, that won't be a good job. Why don't you just fill all the bricks? It wouldn't cost you much more. We're already set up here."Me: Tell me what it would cost, and I'll decide based on that.Him: $5,500, ma'am.Me: (I refused quotes of $6,500 and $8,000 from the other bidders to fill all the bricks.) I can live with that; it's OK with me. There won't be any unpleasant surprises, will there?Him: No, no!A little later: Him: Oh, ma'am, I made a mistake… I'm so sorry. I forgot to include the fourth wall in the calculations. I didn't realize it was brick too.Me: ...with my grumpy face...Him: I'll give you an updated estimate tonight.The next morning: Estimate $11,500!Me: I'm furious... I'm going to see them (they're two partners). What do you mean $11,500? Yesterday I accepted $5,500.Him: I said $5,500 "more, ma'am."Me: No, you never said that. If you had said $9,000, I would have said no. I've already turned down two estimates for less than that. You told me: "It wouldn't cost you much more. From $3,500 to $11,500, sir, that's MUCH more."We finally negotiated down to $8500. An amount I really didn't want to spend.On top of that, they left the wires dangling six inches from the wall. I called them back to ask them to fix it. They secured them with screws. SCREWS!!! As for the finishing, just look at the photos—it's amateurish. I'm going to have to pay someone to come and fix it. So disappointed!NB: The nice finish in the third photo was done by the company that replaced my windows. See the difference?
