When we purchased our house in late November 2020, we knew the driveway would be a project we would have to address. Foundation and other issues were noted on multiple home inspections and the sellers even granted us money for a future fix just to close. I started gathering quotes in Spring 2022 and had no idea that a concrete shortage existed. I was not as familiar with Hemma but decided to give them a shot since they had rebuilt my parents driveway in East Cobb. From the first communication with the office staff to Adam (our rep) answering any questions I had, we were very impressed. Adam on the spot took measurements and even drew us a markup of the proposed project, which helped us secure HOA approval. In addition to our driveway and sidewalk, we went ahead and added a horse-shoe in our front yard for extra parking and getting safely out of our driveway onto a busy road.

The week before the project, Adam and the project manager came out to spraypaint our grass so we were all on board. We were able to plan this project around being out of town on Fall Break, since we could not drive on it for 5 days. We have had many compliments already of neighbors walking by. The price-point was very competitive to other concrete companies but we were impressed by the customer service involved. We highly recommend Hemma for any concrete needs!

These contractors have no regard for quality of life for those who live around Hemma’s job sites. They are constantly in violation of city working hours working as early as 6am and creating loud disturbances. I kindly reminded one of the contractors and asked that they wait until the city’s approved working hours and he responded with a bunch of expletives.

We had an excellent experience with Hemma, which means a lot when investing in such an expensive homeownership project. Their quote was the best of several companies I talked to, and Adam was knowledgeable about how the details of the project would play out in City of Decatur. We first had to complete tree work and a prolonged local permitting process, but Hemma offered support as I did the permit applications. Once we were scheduled, everything proceeded on time and with good communication from Kristina. Edgar and the crew on site were professional, capable, and happy to explain things to us. Hemma helped us out by letting us add a change order for a reasonable fee, to jump-start some drainage and landscaping digging while the heavy equipment was already on site. The crew was clearly experienced at managing the job, and clean-up was prompt and thorough. The final invoice was exactly in line with the estimate, and the finished driveway looks great and is a major structural improvement. We would definitely recommend Hemma for a residential job.

Hemma replaced and expanded our driveway complete with a drain pipe to take water from our sloping driveway. They also graded the side and back yard. The service and workmanship has been fantastic. The quote process was straightforward. Kristina worked with us to use the permit we already received from the city and took care of all further permitting. The job was scheduled and happened without incident thanks to Alfredo. The next day someone came out to clean up and patch up the yard which was totally unexpected- I am used to cleaning up after contractors myself. Really impressive customer service.

The grading work has been great, they seeded the lawn and covered it in straw. Again something I expected to take care of myself. The grass is growing in just fine 2 weeks later.

There was one small issue with the pour of our front walkway. Hemma came out and corrected it promptly with no charges. They did demo and poured to fix the issue in one day. Top notch.
