I want to recommend Jim Gardner Construction company. We thought we understood what was needed to improve site drainage on our property and asked him for an estimate. He came out to the property and after walking the site, told us immediately that site drainage was not his expertise and gave us some very helpful suggestions and recommendations of what to do next, waiving his usual consultation fee. He spent about a half hour with us. We appreciated his honesty, expertise and generosity.

Jim was super easy to work with and schedule a first consultation! His blog had so much information to help us understand what we were interested in. Then when he came for the consult, he was very honest and helpful, walking us through why our idea wasn't worth the cost. Jim came out for a free drainage estimate. He identified a very simple fix that would likely solve my problem (which he walked me through completing myself), and we talked through some other possibilities should that solution not solve the whole issue. He promptly sent over estimates for the other scenarios we talked through. I will definitely work with them again if we need more work done!
Jim is a REALLY great guy!He was so helpful...even after he realized that my job was too small for his company, he still stayed and provided me some great input on how to course-correct a drainage problem created by a less-skilled contractor. I even tried to develop an associated drainage project to hire him!!! I really wish I could have hired him - drainage and foundations are his expertise and he is really skilled at explaining the issues to homeowners.
