DISCRIMINATION ???? I contacted this company after being referred by another contractor regarding a manufacturing facility project. I called with a simple question: who could I speak with to better understand the company's services and capabilities.I was told they do not have salespeople, which was perfectly fine. I then politely asked whether there was a project manager or another team member who could help me. Instead of assisting me, the receptionist became dismissive, made a frustrated noise, and hung up on me.Assuming the call had been disconnected accidentally, I immediately called back. My call was not answered.I am a business owner currently developing a multimillion-dollar manufacturing facility and regularly work with contractors, engineers, suppliers, and vendors. I communicate professionally every day. While I have an accent, I communicate clearly and effectively. The interaction left me with the unmistakable impression that I was being judged and dismissed because of the way I speak rather than the reason I was calling.Whether intentional or not, the experience felt discriminatory and deeply unprofessional. No prospective customer should be treated as less credible, less important, or less deserving of respect because they have an accent.I was prepared to discuss a significant project opportunity. Instead, I was hung up on and ignored. That is not the level of professionalism I expect from a company seeking to earn business.
