Lynn Massey on My Back Yard Contractor

I’m writing this 5-star review because of the quality work and genuine care from the concrete contractor team. At a job in Santa Barbara, Erik, who was driving the company truck, went out of his way to help us and would not accept anything extra for it. That says a lot about the kind of crew they have. Their concrete cutting service was handled with skill, professionalism, and respect, and the whole experience showed real pride in their work. If you need a reliable concrete contractor for concrete cutting or related services, I would strongly recommend them for their kindness, experience, and dependable service.

My Back Yard Contractor did an outstanding job with our new stamped concrete patio in Santa Barbara. From the very first visit, Erik provided a clear and competitive estimate compared to other contractors we spoke with. He gave us helpful suggestions about different concrete finishes and the costs for various colors and patterns. We decided on a slate texture for a more subtle look, but there were plenty of other texture choices too. Erik and Collin were always on time and kept to the schedule. They worked hard every day, were friendly, and patiently answered all of our questions. The team set up a clear timeline and followed through with quality work at every step. They took out our old brick patio, replaced the worn wooden wall, graded the whole area, improved the drainage, and got everything ready for the new concrete pour. Once the concrete was poured, they stamped it to give it the perfect slate texture and finished it with a dusting for extra contrast. We’re really happy with the results and highly recommend this company for anyone in Santa Barbara looking to upgrade their backyard with beautiful, long-lasting concrete work.

I reached out to a few concrete contractors in Santa Barbara to get quotes for leveling my very uneven wood subfloor, which was about half plywood and half tongue-and-groove boards. I sent photos and a detailed description to each company. When Erik from this concrete company got my message, he asked some thoughtful questions and insisted on visiting in person before giving a recommendation or estimate. The other contractor just sent a quick quote using my measurements and only came by later after I pushed for it. Erik really took the time to explain every step of the self-leveling process and offered a couple of options that fit my budget and needs. His proposal was very clear, showing exactly what each part of the job would cover. He was polite, professional, and easy to talk to. A big plus was when I asked Erik for a small extra favor that wasn't included in the original bid. Even though it was missed at first, he apologized and sent out two workers the very next day to take care of it, without me even having to follow up. That kind of reliability and honesty is hard to find these days, and it made me feel confident that Erik and his team stand behind their work. I also had the flooring installers give me a quote for self-leveling, but after talking with this concrete contractor, I realized how important it is to have the surface properly prepared the right way from the start. It’s never fun to pay for extra work before new flooring goes in, but with the hot Santa Barbara climate and the challenges of uneven subfloors, it’s definitely worth doing it correctly the first time. I was very pleased with the service and would recommend this team to anyone needing concrete leveling work.

Tara Donovan on My Back Yard Contractor

We had a concrete fire table installed on our patio by My Back Yard Contractor and really love it. The fire feature sits outside in the hot Santa Barbara sun and weather, and it’s stayed in great shape without any problems. Before deciding on this, we looked at a lot of other fire pits online, but most were made from cheap materials that needed to be covered all the time. The one we got is made from lightweight concrete, so it’s sturdy, easy to maintain, and we can leave it uncovered year-round. after a few years, our fire table still looks fantastic. collin from the team was great and handled everything, from helping us choose the right style to delivery and installation. the customer service was excellent and they made the whole process really easy. if you want a custom fire pit or any kind of decorative concrete work, this is the company to call. five stars!

Miguel Ortega on My Back Yard Contractor

My Back Yard Contractor and their skilled crew just wrapped up a concrete project at my home. I had some ideas in mind for my driveway, and Jamie really helped make those ideas even better, especially with the beautiful basket weave stamped concrete borders. Their work looks amazing. Jamie, along with Bernard and Collin, are all hardworking, friendly, and truly care about the quality of their work. They treated my project as if it were their own home, always arriving on time every day. I really appreciated having them around—they kept the workspace clean and tidy at the end of each day, which shows their dedication and professionalism. If you’re looking for a reliable concrete contractor who does top-notch work and keeps their promises, I highly recommend this team for your next project.
