I'm a Kansas City Kansas resident and you guys are repaving Parallel and State Avenue and you guys doing a great job. Getting it done fast. And very little oily mess that I see. thank you!!
This company must have gotten a contract for a major resurfacing project in Overland Park in Summer 2025. The staging of heavy equipment and construction traffic has been a constant nuisance, but that isn’t the worst of it. The crew on this job is flat out dangerous, particularly to young children traveling to and from school. I’ve seen their drivers ignore traffic signs at school crossings. Dangerous equipment has blocked crossings and created safety hazards as well.
The company just finished with a mill and overlay project on my street. I think they did an exemptional job. The persons on the crews were quick, diligent and hard working. They were professional - no yelling or foul language. We had grandkids at our house and while completing maintenance on the milling machine the operator took time to show my grandsons how the machine worked. Additionally, the operator of the street sweeper stopped to provide us with some good information about the street sweeper while he was operating the machine.
I was very disappointed in this company's inability to respond to me. I went to their website to request they move their huge construction vehicles off our street as they had been blocking the road completely for weeks on end and our street was not under repair but they had still been just using our street as a parking lot for all their large construction trucks and school was about to start and busses would need to get by as this street was the main thoroughfare for the elementary school just down the street. McAnany did not respond or move their trucks. It took the City of Olathe to place signs that said No Truck at the front and down the side of our streets to make them comply and pay attention and the first week of school and blocking school busses to make anything happen. Very sad. Wonder who's neighborhood they are bombarding now!
I want to start by saying that the end result is great. The street in front of my house needed resurfacing and the blacktop is smooth as butter to drive on.Why they lose a star is because of the last day where they surfaced the street. According to the city, they were supposed to put signs out in the yard next to the driveways telling us when they would be applying the blacktop. We got a letter from the city stating that surfacing would not start before 8am. Neither of these happened. I work from home and never saw a sign on our street. Other blocks were notified, but not ours. Then they started prep work at 6:30 and laying blacktop at 7:30. They blocked my driveway before 8am, making my wife late for her work. I had to park a block away and walk through ditches to get home after driving my child to school. Both of us would have been done driving by 8am and out of their way the entire time if they had notified us and started when they were supposed to start. In addition, their assistance at directing traffic left cars facing each other in one lane construction zones. They had 2 workers trying to direct traffic at an intersection which contradicted each other, nearly causing accidents. They walked into traffic while texting on cell phones without watching for vehicles. How there were no accidents or injuries is amazing. The rest of the experience was great. They expertly ground the top surface of the old road off, managing the curve of my driveway great. They patched the cracks and repaired curbs in my neighborhood. They added wheelchair accessible ramps which is wonderful. If they could have just managed communication and traffic. Five stars for quality. Minus 1 star for safety and communication.
