I have never had such a poor experience with a contractor and we've hired a lot lately; many in the height of their busy season and we've never had such terrible communication from anyone but this one. After cashing our deposit, it took a month for them to advise on scheduling the project and only after I was the one to follow up on it. At that time, they just advised a generic month and it took another follow up from me to get a more narrowed timeline. When we finally settled on a date and time, they advised yet another delay; which we understand...weather happens...but then after advising that morning that they'd just show up that afternoon, they were two hours late with no call or text. Just showed up. When they finally did show up, two hours shy of workdays' end, I asked when the rest of the job would get completed. He said they'd come tomorrow (Saturday), after I already advised twice that we weren't available that day. Then he got mad when I said no to leaving our security gate open so they can work when we weren't home and did not respect our decision even though we have a young child; rudely saying I don't trust him; which of course I don't, you're a stranger. I'm going to prioritize my child's safety over your feelings. I tried to advise my frustration with communication, hoping to get improvement for the rest of the project and instead of apologizing, the contractor (who is the son of the owner...which is crazy), threw up his hands and turned his back to me, saying this was too "hectic" and refused do the job. The disrespect and outrageously poor communication when we've been nothing but flexible and accommodating up to this point is something we've never experienced and don't want anyone else to either. To have this kind of experience before the project even started is insane to me; clearly our project was too small to matter to them.
I was very pleased from start to finish with A Q Masonry. Their price was very fair and their workmanship were excellent. They began the project on the date stated and finished in an expected fashion. No stop and go. I would highly recommend this company. Beautiful work. My sidewalk looks beautiful.
Fantastic work! The walkway and steps to our 1943 cape is such an upgrade. It looks elegant, spacious and clean. AQ Masonry staff is a hardworking crew, receptive to the clients’ ideas and always courteous. We will call them in the near future for other projects in the house.
The work that AQ Masonry does is second to none. We've had them install two walkways now and couldn't be happier. To top it off the customer service is also top notch. We've recommended them to our friends and family, who have also been extremely happy with their craftsmanship. AQ Masonry does the best work for the best price and we would never think of using another company.
We contracted AQ Masonry to rebuild a crumbling retaining wall and redo the decking around our pool. I must say after having various contract work done for over 50 years, I have never experienced such a professional, harder working, perfectionist in my entire life.
