Vic did a fantastic job with my chimney. What impressed us the most was using parts on the existing chimney in order to save us on the cost.Very professionalThe job was done in very quick turnaround.
Had a great experience with Cornerstone Grand Masonry. He cut the asphalt driveway and helped break it up too. Super helpful, worked efficiently, and we had everything done in just a few hours. Would definitely recommend.
Vic runs a great local business and I’m always pleased to work together for laying new block, brick or restoration work. Cornerstone came to the property on short notice and made the end product look great and watching him work I know it will last another 75 years. We love working with a Niagara local master mason like Vic. 5/5!
Vic and Amber are amazing! Very skilled at masonry work. Fixed both our 45 year old chimneys. They were prompt, professional yet friendly and very tidy. My husband and I highly recommend their work. We will not hesitate to have them back if we ever need any more masonry work done. Thank you very much.
I would not recommend this service. We were given an appealing offer for our masonry needs, but weren't given quality service that held any test of time.In Oct. 2024, we (80+ seniors) hired Vic Taylor to repair the front steps to our house. When he finished we were pleased as it seemed to fix our immediate issues, however within only several weeks after completion, we were surprised to see a hole forming on the pad at the top of the stairs. We reached out to Vic repeatedly and after a long duration of no contact (5 months), finally reached out and assured us in April of 2025 that everything would be taken care of.Through text he told us, “It’s an easy fix. I thought we might see this after the winter. I will come fix it.” He explained he wanted to use a different compound which would be harder. This was the last we had heard from Vic for a year, despite reaching out on multiple occasions. We were hoping he would honour his word and come to fix his sub-par concrete work that barely lasted a month before beginning to fail. After the top pad’s deterioration issues, it continued into the stairs themselves. During this winter the front steps got even worse and have cracked and appear to be unsafe. Now in desperation, I continued to reach out to plead for the long overdue visit from him that he said in his text to us, he anticipated to do after the initial job.To our surprise he finally returned a message more than a year after telling us it was “an easy fix”, saying he got a new phone and it didn't have his old contacts or messages, he couldn't remember who we were and didn't know we were expecting him to come and address his shoddy work, all of which felt disingenuous. He asked to see some photos, which we gladly sent. His response to them was, “The deterioration showing now appears consistent with heavy weather exposure - consistent moisture, foot traffic, and winter conditions like ice and salt can accelerate wear on exterior masonry.” He clearly put the photos we sent into chatGPT and copied the response it gave him verbatim. That said, it’s a set of stairs outside my home, obviously it will be exposed to the Canadian elements, does he not expect any salt to be put on the stairs during winter? Also, that is not our primary entrance and foot traffic is extremely low. The attached pictures are the result of weather over the course of just over a year since his ”professional repair” of our front stairs. Is it not reasonable to assume that professional outdoor masonry work should last more than a year? The masonry work we paid for started to crumble within a month before being exposed to its first winter season, we reached out immediately and after months of no return contact was told by Vic that it would be addressed properly and was then ghosted for a year instead. Only with persistent pestering did he finally resurface, ultimately being brushed off to the work of mother nature and father time.Beware, this man’s word is not to be trusted.
