Working with Malaki and Riley as project leaders has been a pleasure. They and their crew worked hard in the dust, hot sun, stopping only for lunch and cleaning up before leaving for the day.
Our fireplace was in really bad shape and Black Horse Masonry was undaunted with the task of fixing it. They were able to structurally rebuild the front face and the fireplace looks and functions so wonderfully now.They were quite pleasant to work with and cared about the quality of what they were doing each step of the way. I'd have zero hesitation calling Black Horse Masonry back out to do any future masonry work on our home!
We had mortar failing and subsequent chimney leaks a few winters ago that I emergency repaired with silicone sealant. This held for a bit, but was really unsightly and the wrong product for the long-term.Black Horse Masonry did incredible chimney structural repair work for us years ago, so when I contacted them, they remembered us, came out, and were awesome once again! They cut and cleaned off the silicone, did a grind and tuck point for all the failed/missing mortar joints and installed new metal flashing. They also did a chimney sweep and waterproof coating for the chimney walls.I have a background in architecture and building envelope design, and I can say from experience that a contractor you can trust to actually care about the details of their work is worth their weight in gold. Black Horse Masonry is exactly that.We couldn't be happier with the crew and Isaac with his usual can do vibe :) We'll call them back every time we need masonry work!
