From the moment I met Sergio as he stepped out of his truck, I felt a sense of calm and confidence. Over the years, I’ve hired many contractors, and unfortunately, a majority of those experiences involved unexpected problems, delays, and costs that far exceeded the original estimates. Sergio was different from the very beginning.

He won me over from our first conversation. I immediately felt a connection, and for good reason—a genuinely honest man who is passionate about his work. That’s not something I say lightly. He listened carefully to my ideas, reviewed the diagram I had drawn, and took the time to understand exactly what I wanted to achieve by extending our front porch. While he offered a few suggestions of his own, he ultimately brought my vision to life using his expertise and his keen eye for what best complemented the house.

What impressed me most was his communication. Sergio thoroughly explained the preparation process, each step of the project, and what it would take to complete the addition. He never grew tired of answering questions or explaining things more than once. It was clear that he took great pride in his work and wanted me to feel informed and comfortable throughout the entire process.

Sergio followed through on every promise he made, and the same can be said for his entire crew, who were fully invested in what we jokingly called “Project East Wing.” Once the concrete was poured, the real artistry began. Watching Sergio work on the details was remarkable. He carefully etched the borders, refined the curves, perfected the lines, and adjusted every brushstroke with the precision of an optometrist fine-tuning a pair of glasses. He wouldn’t stop until everything was exactly right.

I can honestly say I have never been happier with a construction project or its results. Onyx Concrete is a family business that delivers a level of care, craftsmanship, and integrity that many large corporate companies simply cannot match. Sergio kept his word from start to finish and has even stopped by several times afterward to make sure the concrete was curing properly. That kind of dedication is rare, and it speaks volumes about both the man and his company.

I will forever recommend Onyx for concrete work! Sergio and his team totally saved me last minute. The company I was going to work with flaked, and I had another contractor coming that Saturday to start the framing for my motorcycle garage. I called Onyx on Tuesday. Sergio came out same day to do a bid and spent a considerable amount of time explaining everything to me very transparently. He and his crew were at my house 8am sharp on Thursday morning and got the slab I needed done.

Not only was Onyx super quick to help me in this situation, but they did an excellent job. This was just for the foundation of my little garage but they still made sure that it looked nice and was aesthetically pleasing.

Sergio was incredibly knowledgable and brings over a decade of experience in commercial concrete work to residential customers. He was professional and transparent, which I greatly appreciated.

Concrete work isn’t cheap in general but it is something you probably shouldn’t skimp on. Onyx was reasonably priced for the quality of work they delivered and I’m confident that this foundation was built to last.
