We’ve never had such a painless experience having a chimney rebuilt.For the past several years my husband John has inspected the chimney on our 75-year-old house, shuddering at the thought of having it rebuilt when he’d found “cheesy” mortar and crumbling bricks.Who to trust with the work? A call to Gavin at Heritage Masonry changed all that. Gavin asked why John thought our chimney needed replacing. “Because it looks as bad as or worse than the chimney on your website,” was his response.Even when Gavin came to quote on the work his response was equally low key, saying perhaps it only needs repointing. It turned out the chimney did need full replacement but we felt peace of mind knowing a new one could weather any winter storms.We found Gavin and his talented crew very organized, efficient and great at communicating what they were doing and when they would do it. John and I were very impressed with how respectful, tidy and conscientious every person was with the job—and our house and yard.We were told in advance of arrival times, duration of work and what to expect.
