We are beyond delighted with the final result of our renovation project under guidance of Duane Erb Construction. The work was completed in September and still there is not a day that goes by that we are not grateful and delighted by our beautiful bedroom and ensuite, true to the original design of our home. Being relatively new to the KW area, we were at a loss to know who were the reliable and qualified contractors in the city. We had moved into a older home which had undergone many "do it yourself" projects over the years. We had a vision to transform an upstairs bathroom into a master ensuite as well as create storage in the bedroom (as the primary clothes closets existed in the hall). We started to notice a name frequently popping up around our neighbourhood, a company that appeared to manage large and small projects alike. From the first consultation we were sold. This is a family business which prides itself on excellence in craftsmanship, equally as engaged with the project as the client. Darren Erb oversaw our project and was exceptional in walking us through every step of the process. We knew nothing about construction - this was our first renovation - but every question was answered, ideas considered and explanations given. There was someone at our house every day for the 3 months it took to complete the project - multiple trades, carefully orchestrated with timelines outlined in our Buildertrend file. We enlisted the help of Colleen at Aberdeen Interior Design (credited in the photos) to help establish the esthetic aspects of the renovation and she was welcomed at every consultation. Dave was our primary carpenter - amazing talent! Equal attention paid to bulk framing as to the smallest bit of trim work. The trades - plumbing, tiling (Ben), electrical (Anna), HVAC, drywall, cabinetry (Custom Kitchens), painting (Carla) - lovely people who took care of our home and were a joy to have around. We had Duane Erb do a full floor Reno of our kitchen in 2018 and we love it. When it came time to do our upstairs bathroom we knew the choice was obvious. Darren has done a fine job of stepping in to run things along with Steve and their entire crew. Our bathroom was a complete tear down and everything went exactly to plan. The subcontractors are true professionals in all their trades. Reno's can be stressful but we know that everything is being looked after and staying up at night worrying about details is not even a thing we even left for a vacation during the Reno. Richcraft had already picked out all of our tile and grout colour I think I was in and out in five minutes why fix it if it ain't broken. Highly recommend them for any Reno you are planning.
We have had only good experiences working with the folks at Duane Erb Construction over the years. Our most recent project (a kitchen/laundry closet renovation) presented typical but also unexpected reno challenges relating to design, building and electrical obstacles, and the invariable hurdles around coordinating the trades involved in getting the job completed to perfection. At every stage, DEC rose to the occasion, proving their expertise, professionalism, and honesty. They are masters in all aspects of this business.
