I hired Zaid to do a conventional foundation on a house I recently built and unfortunately had a poor experience. I encountered many quality issues, including:
- Some pile caps had to be redone because the pile cap forming wasn't secured in place and fell over
- All basement windows had to be recut because they were the wrong size
- Wall bowed in by ~2"
- Walls out of square, not level on top, not finished well for sill plate / framing
- Foundation wrap installed incorrectly with too few fasteners, leading to failure
- Garage door openings in grade beam incorrect size

During the work I found the owner was good to work with and I do think he was doing his best to do good work, but it appeared to me like he trusted too much of the work to an inexperienced foreman. He didn't do enough to ensure the work was done correctly. He fix some of the issues, like the window sizing, but did not take accountability for many of the issues like the foundation wrap failure.

This was a tough project, with it being winter work, 11 ft foundation walls and quite a few corners on the foundation but they charged appropriately and failed to deliver a good product. Based on other reviews, I think Zaid does good concrete flat work but I would not hire them again for foundation work.

Both the excavation company and framer that I hired noted the poor workmanship of Zaid's foundation work.

We had Zaid remove our driveway, garage floor, sidewalk and re-pour new concrete. They were very polite and accommodating. Moe and his team did a great job fixing the terrible work that A&S homes did on the driveway and garage. All the work that Zaid did was professionally done and well worth it. We highly recommend them.

We decided our driveway was in desperate need of replacing so my husband started researching best concrete contractors in Winnipeg... this is how we found ZAID CONCRETE. Moe (owner) came out on the weekend, listened to our needs, took measurements & gave advise for the best option & finish. He emailed us a complete quote including a very fair & clear payment structure. Just before the job was scheduled, we contacted Moe to request a 2nd visit, at which time Moe came back within a day! We requested to ADD our FRONT walkway. Moe obliged & requoted adding the walkway. The crew with Moe were GREAT & very respectful, working a few very late days when installing the forms & rebar AND the pouring & finishing the concrete. The attention to detail was greatly appreciated & the crew were sensitive to our neighbors & their needs, moving trucks & equipment when requested to allow traffic to pass as we live on a small cul-de-sac (no exit street). The flow of information & communication as the stages progressed over the construction week were accurate & quick. The price was very FAIR, WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND MOE & HIS CREW! Very easy to deal with, he made a BIG JOB for us look very easy.
WE ARE EXTEMELY HAPPY with THE FINAL PRODUCT!
Our neighbors are jealous! 3 of 9 neighbors asked lots of questions regarding cost & other details. We hope our project brings ZAID CONCRETE more business in Charleswood! & our street in particular! GREAT JOB ZAID CONCRETE!

A huge Thank You to Zaid Concrete and Excavating on a job well done! Moe and his crew replaced our existing driveway and expanded to a double driveway. We were not home for the first part of work being done (removing old driveway, expanding etc...)but our neighbors had told us how hard working the crew was and polite and sure enough when we got to meet them they were awesome! Moe always kept us updated on work progress when we were away, so we never had to wonder at all! All in all they are Professional, hard working and very friendly crew! Would recommend Zaid Concrete and Excavating company to anyone needing work done!
