Shamrock Masonry was not actually the company my aunt had done business with, but I still wanted to share what a great experience we had connecting with Ryan. He was incredibly helpful, honest, and explained that there’s another company with a very similar name that has caused confusion with reviews. Even though there was no work involved, he took the time to offer guidance and even said we could reach out anytime if we had questions or needed a second opinion. That level of professionalism and willingness to help really stood out.
Pat and his brother did an amazing job at my home last fall building stone walls for a terraced garden next to my driveway and repointing my stone foundation and front walkway. Pat was very responsive throughout the project and the pricing was very fair. These two are also incredibly hard workers. I am so pleased with the walls, which are both beautiful and built to last.
The work these 2 brothers do is beautiful! They know their stuff. BUT...There were 2 bids for our front steps to be rebuilt. These men took the job and bid $5,000 for it. Evidently it was a bigger job then they anticipated. There were complaints by the 2 men on day 3 that it was going to be harder then they figured and the complaints continued throughout the project. We were given a contract as to what would be done and the cost. Due to the difficulty of the work we agreed to pay $1500 more then first agreed upon on completion of the project. Work was slow...partly due to weather, understandable. One brother must of been on another job as they only worked 4 hours a day and left, even in good weather. The clincher was when the older brother threatened to walk off the job and leave all of his tools behind. My husband responded and asked them to please finish the job. They did come back to finish the steps and did beautiful work. However, the contract specified the project included a pathway to the street. This pathway was never started and left undone. No agreement could be reached and they simply left the job unfinished yet demanded full payment. There was concern on our part that these issues would escalate even further after a phone call from them. To avoid further harassment the payment in full of $6,500 was made even though work was left undone. Due to the poor communication and constant complaints about the difficult job, and demanding full pay without finishing, I can only give a 2 star rating.. We are left with out railing to our steps and no path to the street. Not easy or pleasant men to work with.
I’m in Maine, nearly impossible to find a mason. “Jacob” from Shamrock was at my house within 24 hours and did an excellent job. Don’t let his youthful appearance fool you, he knows what he’s doing.Highly recommended.
Masterful masonry work by Pat and his brother. I would recommend his work to anyone. In fact before he completed the work on the first proposal, I had him do another proposal for more work. For the work he does, his rates are very good. I am so glad I chose to use him as a local contractor. There was a bit of extended delay on final completion of railings which I would ding him a quarter of a star if I could. I would no doubt use him again for his work.
