Fast, professional service was provided to me but I feel that my ignorance was taken advantage of.
So Tyler provided the service to my home about a year ago now and I've been reluctant to review as my feelings were mixed on the situation. But I can't help but be upset and unsettled over it still.
The previous day to the visit, I had plugged in an older lamp that seemed to blow the circuit out in half of my condo (kitchen, living room, bedroom. I considered opening the breaker myself and attempting to fix the situation myself, but I *mistakenly* thought I might accidentally affect a neighbouring unit.
I thought the ballpark $500 for an emergency visit was steep, but the visit was necessary for same day so I agreed to it. I wish that I felt that I had room to negotiate a second quote but that's on me. I was on a fixed income, but I felt pressure to just concede.
So Tyler arrives, is friendly, professional. I initially expect more procedures to happen to justify the cost. I even moved over all of furniture from the walls outlets because, well just in case. Turned out to be one breaker switch I could have investigated myself.
I just felt so deflated, I reluctantly send the e-transfer without discussion. I must mention that I'm on the North Shore so maybe the distance was a factor in the cost of the call. In the end, it's my fault for not being assertive enough and doing my research but I'm still upset about the predatory pricing (in my opinion) and will probably remove this review in a couple of days.

Is knowledgeable. But he does not respond to text messages, emails or phone calls. Charged us a pretty penny to fix a few electric issues in our home and now 2 issues are still left unresolved.

I contacted Electric Ave on a holiday and they picked up and helped me out right away. I had tried calling a few other electricians beforehand, but due to it being a holiday, even though on Google, it said that the other companies were open, they were closed.

I spoke to Tyler Clarkson who could have charged me money to do something simple, but instead, he took 10 minutes out of his day to walk me through a solution, and offered his empathy for the situation I was going through. In the end, I got the solution solved and wasn't charged a single cent for it.

If you need someone, give them a call - I'm so glad I did.

I reached out to get some light fixtures replaced, and Tyler was at my place less than two hours later- so speedy! He was super communicative and friendly during the whole installation process. Will definitely call Electric Ave for my future electrical needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Typical jobs include diagnosing tripped circuits, repairing breakers, replacing outlets and switches, and installing light fixtures. Smaller commercial and office service calls are also supported.

Availability can vary, but many reviews mention same-day or very prompt service. Calling by phone is the fastest way to confirm timing.

In some cases, basic troubleshooting steps can be discussed by phone to determine if an on-site visit is needed. This can save time and clarify the scope before scheduling.

First, check your panel for tripped breakers and reset any that are off. If power doesn’t return or breakers keep tripping, stop resetting and call to arrange a safe inspection.

Pricing depends on the issue’s complexity and parts required. A brief call can help outline the likely scope, and on-site diagnosis will confirm the final cost before work proceeds.
