I was recommended Source One Electrical by a friend for some repairs that needed to be done around the house. I am highly satisfied with the work they did and the service that was provided. Dillon, the owner, came out for the estimate and was very helpful. The crew working on our home were respectful, on time, clean, very knowledgeable, and fast. Quality work for a decent price. I will be using this company again for future repairs and upgrades.
This is my first negative review of any professional establishment I have ever worked with. As someone who is not handy around the house, I have the utmost respect for all workers in the trades and always give them the benefit of the doubt in the work that they do. This is especially true in these times of COVID when good workers are hard to find. There have been three instances where I have questioned the competence and professionalism of Source One but always paid their high premium bills on time. The first instance was when they installed faulty recessed lighting in my home that to my surprise they purchased from Home Depot. Given their reputation, I assumed Source One would have more reputable suppliers. They recognized the problem themselves and redid the job. The second instance involved an extensive outdoor lighting project. Nick meticulously work out the design and assisted in ordering the parts. Sadly when the electrician showed up, he appeared to be dumbfounded and uncertain how to proceed and it took him quite some time to get his bearings with assistance form the office. The final incident involved trouble shooting the loss of power in several external outlets. The problem was fixed in a matter of hours and I promptly paid for the electrician's service. But when the same problem reoccurred days later, this same electrician, before he even had it fixed, was telling me that this was a different issue and that he would need to be paid for separately on a time and materials basis. I asked 3 times for him to explain how this was different from his previous trouble shooting call, and 3 times I received a response that did not make sense. I proactively contacted Dillon Ballow and asked him the same question. Dillon was supposed to speak with the electrician and get back to me which he did not do. My intuition was that the same problem would reoccur and sure enough it did. What surprised about all of these interactions was the condescension and the arrogance exhibited by Dillon and the electrician in their refusal to provide me a plausible explanation. While I did not pay the $160. they demanded (especially that the problem reoccurred a 3rd time), I had promptly paid them thousands of dollars for major lighting installations throughout my home in the previous two years. Perhaps if I was major commercial institution the size of Scripps, I would receive better customer service. Or might the problem be a turnover in their management that causes the current team to lack the people skills in dealing with their long term clients. As a result of my experience with more professional and responsive electricians, namely ZED Electric who finally resolved the problem, I was inspired to write this review.
Nick and his crew at Source One Electrical did an awesome job installing an incredible 54” chandelier from Marset in my entry hall. This company gives great service at a very competitive price. Thanks guys!
I have been using Source One for quite a few years now both personally and professionally. Nick North and his entire team are great to work with. They are professional, responsive and appropriately priced. We can't say enough about how great the entire Source One team is.
Source One is great, they did the work on my home addition and I have had them come by to do a few extra work around the house. They are good at what they do, and Nick is a wonderful. Good work at a great price.
