Eric Lefebvre

The process of selecting a Generac model and the installation of the unit (incl propane tanks) was made easy and seamless. The 1st Electric staff was responsive, friendly overall, and very informative to help me decide between a 200amp and 400 amp service and the location of the Generac unit. The installation crew was professional and answered all my questions. Price was also very competitive. Highly recommended.

We moved in about 6 months ago and had 1st Electric do 2 projects with us. A 22 kW emergency Generator and Gemstone lighting, both projects went very well. The office and instal crews were always professional and friendly. I recommend them without any hesitation! Love the lights ??

I had an exceptional experience with my 1st Electric Generac installation. From the initial site visit and estimate to the final installation, the process was seamless and professional. Glen, the technician, was outstanding—he went above and beyond to address all my questions and made sure everything was thoroughly cleaned before leaving. I highly recommend this company for their quality service and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Thank you, Generac and 1st Electric, for a job well done. The estimate started off rather high but set the tone for a worst-case scenario. Once approved, they scheduled an installation date that better suited my timeline and adapted to my needs. They found significant cost savings as some work was not required to meet electrical code. The installation team managed to hide the wiring better than anticipated, which greatly improved the aesthetics of the home. No unwanted surprises and complete peace of mind—couldn’t be happier. Cheers!

We recently had a 14kw Generac Generator installed at our home by 1ST Electric. Overall the experience was top notch. We made contact through the Generac website and everything went smoothly. From the estimate to the final installation and inspection. Everyone involved have been friendly, knowledgeable and eager to get the job done. I would recommend 1ST Electric for all Generator needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does 1st Electric plan a generator installation?

A Generac specialist starts with a phone consultation about generator size and available options. An estimator then visits to discuss placement of the generator, transfer switch and propane tanks.

What maintenance schedule does 1st Electric give for new generators?

The first maintenance is required after 25 hours, then annually or every 100 hours, whichever comes first.

How does 1st Electric handle solar approvals before installation?

The team coordinates document submissions to Nova Scotia Power, municipal permits and any necessary engineering assessments. Equipment is ordered and installation dates are secured after plans are approved and permits are issued.

Can 1st Electric’s 5 kW/14 kWh battery system power an entire home?

No. It can power several essential loads, but it is not a whole-home backup solution.
