We just needed 3 lights switched out and the woman who scheduled it said that wouldn’t be a problem, we would just pay the $150 for the first hour and then whatever for the ones after and then parts. They were only able to install 1 of the 3 since parts were missing and we were charged $250 (1 hour) but they sent 2 people so we had to pay for both. That was not what we were told.
After finally getting a resolution, our work has now passed inspection, and the issues have been addressed. However, it’s important to note that communication was practically nonexistent until I left a negative review—only then did Bruton finally reach out.Initial Concerns Clarified: While I initially believed there was an issue with Bruton running a 50-amp line instead of the required 100-amp for the sub-panel and EV charger, it turns out the work was done correctly. The real problem stemmed from poor planning: some aspects of the work weren’t included in the original permit or inspected properly, causing us serious concern about safety and compliance.Communication Issues: Communication had been sorely lacking from the start, almost driving us to seek another company. Weeks passed without any response as we tried to finalize the work, leaving us anxious about the project’s safety. It was only after I left a negative review that we received a response, and even then, it felt more like damage control than genuine customer service. Rob, who had done much of the work, was especially dismissive when asked for clarification, replying, “not his business, not his problem.” Alanna, who we’d also tried to contact numerous times, never replied to any of our emails.Final Thoughts: The work was eventually done correctly, but the frustration of being ignored until a public complaint was made, coupled with dismissive and unprofessional responses, made the whole process unnecessarily stressful. After 4 months the work remains incomplete with half the ceiling lights in our living room not working. I would caution any potential customers to demand clear, consistent communication before committing to this company.TL;DR; work is incomplete, but the company only responded after a negative review, and poor communication throughout made for a stressful and frustrating experience.
