I hired this company for electrical work and unfortunately the experience did not meet expectations.
When the electrician arrived, he seemed disengaged and not fully present. He spoke to his apprentice in a dismissive manner, which was uncomfortable to witness and did not reflect well on the company’s professionalism.
Three separate items were discussed, but only one was actually repaired. When I asked for clarification on the total cost, I was then told the other items were not included in the quoted price, which had not been clearly explained upfront. The scope and pricing felt unclear.
I also believe I was significantly overcharged for the single repair that was completed. The cost did not align with the scope of work performed, and no detailed breakdown was provided to justify the pricing.
Additionally, I felt spoken down to during the visit, which made the overall interaction unnecessarily unpleasant.
I expected better transparency, communication, and professionalism from a large company.

David Gray is the absolute best. Technicians are so knowledgeable and informative and so kind and pleasant. Our electricians Harold and Jacob were wonderful, can’t say enough good things about them. They deserve a raise along with our plumber Brady whom we love so much! Thank you David Gray for being just the best!

Our pep-tank was not working due to faulty wire (rusted) feeding the control panel. On the positive side, the technician (Adam) was great in every respect and he quickly fixed the problem.
The shockingly negative aspect is that David-Grey’s normal labor rate is currently $400/hr (which is also being charged for the technician’s time while driving to the supply house to get the replacement part).
My mistake for authorizing him to do the work when he gave me the price and the hourly rate. At the time, I didn’t realize that the average labor charge in Florida for a licensed electrician is about $75/hr. Also, it was quite urgent given the specific problem so I didn’t want to take additional time to call another company. In hindsight, I wish that I had called another company - lesson learned!
This electrical issue was basic so that any licensed electrician could have made the simple repair for a fraction of the $1,500+ that I paid.
I also learned that David - Grey was a family owned business for many years, but was recently bought-out by another firm which apparently decided to hike the rates. Hope this review prevents others from being overcharged like I was.

Great service. Mr Carter explained his service plan, answered all questions and did excellent work. His assistant, Ray was very considerate and the two worked well together. Highly recommended.

This is the first review I’ve ever done, but I had to. I picked them not because of their price. I received lower quotes for sure but their reviews were scary and I didn’t want to have a bad experience. So I picked David Gray, who accommodated to my work schedule. I had one day off and the work was going to take two separate days and instead they sent two crews who handled the panel change and the upgrade to 200 amps. They went above and beyond to accommodate. Also, Andrew K. and his crew were super talented and organized. I will use them for any other electrical work that I may need. Sometimes going with a low cost quote doesn’t mean you are getting a deal. Better to have professionals handle all this type of work. For a day before a holiday (thanksgiving) they were awesome.
