Couldn't be happier with my service, Donald came out immediately after I called and was able to quickly yet efficiently fix my ceiling fan. He put it up once and wasn't happy with how it was moving and actually took the time to take it all down and fix it. I am extremely satisfied with my service and the price. I will be a repeat customer and will spread the word, thank you!!
Decent. They were cheapest of the 4 quotes and didn't pass inspection the first time around. Service upgrade job.In a baffling move, I discovered they put my tiny copper SPD leads into the main panel L1 and L2 lugs, right in with the #2 Al wires. Gotta love dissimilar metals AND wildly different conductor sizes in lugs rated for one conductor only. (Violation of 2023 NEC 110.14A)Those SPD leads were so loose and pulled right out with the slightest nudge with one finger. That only exacerbated the fact that the L1 and L2 weren't correctly torqued to begin with.???????Their solution (after I made them come back) was to install a tandem breaker and put the SPD leads there. This proved my worst fear - that the electrician didn't even know (or think to check) the panel specs. The panel (already full) is a 24 space, 24 circuit breaker - with no legal capacity for tandems, and that fact was clearly printed on the OEM panel sticker. ???????None of this would have been discovered if I had not removed the panel cover after they left, such that I could discuss this with the inspector (who doesn't typically remove covers). He wasn't happy to say the least.Lastly, during the service upgrade and meter pull, I reminded the electrician to install a knockout seal in the old conduit hole on the meter box. (I've got endless red squirrel, chipmunk, mouse, and wasp/hornet problems)That never happened - so my meter box still has a gaping hole in the bottom of it. ???????(Violation of 2023 NEC 312.5A, 110.12A, 110.3B, and 230.50B1)That leaves me to open up the box myself, furnish the correct knockout seal, and install it myself inches from hot utility leads. The whole reason I hired them was so I didn't have to do hot work on a meter box. ???????Imagine if I wasn't this observant? 99% of people don't backcheck their electrician against the current code from the respective AHJ.How many homes has Hi-Tech done with shortcuts and "eh, good enough" attitudes? I pray that mine is the exception! This review isn't intended to besmirch or belittle anyone - but rather to stand as a mark in time and a honest experience from a customer. The whole team was very friendly and approachable though, (I appreciated that! ??) but nice people don't make up for code violations and potentially burned down houses.
The service I got was for my generac whole house generator. It was a year old and it was installed by an outfit from Flint Mich, through Home Depot. Hi- Tech's service charge for Maintenance was lower. The technicians were here when scheduled and did the proper maintenance. They were proficient, knowledgeable and friendly. I would've had Hi-tech do the installation if I had known. The installers took a long time (3 months) from when I ordered it until they installed it and I had other problems with them to. I would not recommend that company to anybody.I would certainly recommend Hi-Tech to anybody! My kudos and excellent job!!
I am very pleased with the service that Hi-Ttech has provided to me. In 2023 they installed the whole house generator. They come out each year maintenance it. They are very thorough and professional. I would definitely use them again for any need that I might have.
Hi Tech came in and took care of the upgrades with a minimum of hassle. My inspection took about three minutes. I wouldn’t hesitate to bring them in again.
