I had them come out to fix a ceiling fan switch. The electrician lied to me, telling me it was state law he had to do a full home safety inspection, which is not true. He then proceeded to start taking apart the breaker panels and other things I"m not sure about. I told him that was unnecessary and that I want to just have a $10 piece of plastic replaced and this is completely unnecessary. That crazy thing is he stuck to his guns and his lie that he HAD to do all of this because of state law. No thanks, bro!EDIT: The owner responded, and I have some thoughts. Imagine going to get your oil changed, and the tech tells you that you need to change your transmission fluid, your cabin air filter, and he gives you a price. When you refuse, the tech tells you you're not the right fit for his company, and he refuses to even do the oil change. That's exactly what happened with yesterday with this company.
Beware of Mr. Sparky Electric Company. They installed smoke detectors in my home with one that "would last ten years"! Since that time, several started the annoying beeping. Mr Sparky came out, replaced the one beeping, no charge. Now they say I have to pay to replace the defective ones because the warranty ran out one month ago! I argued that they put in defective ones, why didn't they replace them all at once instead of letting my warranty expire? No, they only replace them when the battery goes out. These type of smoke detectors don't have a 9-volt that can be replaced. Supervisor John Whitfield, Customer Value Manager at Mister Sparky got snappy with me so I called the police. His worker walked out and drove away without replacing anything. So, this company doesn't care about pleasing customers, just ripping them off. Be careful of wolves in sheep's clothing. DO NOT do business with them!
We hired Mister Sparky to repair a light switch, replace a fixture, and give us an electrical inspection on our newly purchased home. Tyler S. did an amazing job! He completed the switch/fixture repairs we needed and then we decided to do some other electrical repairs and upgrades to our home after his free inspection (home was built in 1996). Tyler was professional, courteous, and prompt. He explained everything he was doing and he gave us several options for different repairs that we could do if we wanted (he explained which repairs could wait versus the more important ones like replacing all of our expired 20 year old smoke detectors, etc.). There are no pushy sales tactics and all of the Mister Sparky fees are in writing and up front. We knew exactly what things would cost before he started the work. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend this electrician! (PS-I also found the call center to be very professional. They always answered when we called and they gave us a 30 min courteous call when Tyler was on his way).
