If you’re looking for an electrician, Neil is your guy. Truly a 10/10 experience. Our house completely lost power in the evening and he came out after hours to help us. He quickly figured out the issue and took the time to explain a few things along the way.Neil was punctual, professional, and very patient while we waited for strata to open the electrical room. You can tell he knows what he’s doing and genuinely cares about helping people. His pricing was also very reasonable, especially considering it was after hours.Honest, reliable, and highly recommended.
I needed a Level 2 EV charger installed, and Neil was fantastic to work with. He was professional, punctual, and provided excellent service from start to finish. He clearly explained exactly what needed to be done, answered all my questions, and made sure I was comfortable with the plan before starting the work. The installation was completed efficiently and neatly, and everything was left clean and well-organized afterward. It’s clear he takes pride in his work.Would 100% recommend Neil to anyone needing electrical work done.
We've worked with Neil at Nu Phase for over 6 years. Initially to update our entire home's electrical systems in a major renovation. And then again this month to replace a high entrance chandelier and electrical panel work. We needed the work done in a tight timeline - Neil came through again. He is easy to work with, does quality work, and is able to troubleshoot and come up with different options if needed. Highly recommended.
I had a blown circuit breaker for a residential HVAC unit. With the heat of summer, I really wanted to get it dealt with quickly. I reached out three or four of the electricians with top ratings - including several of the "Best of" companies. Neil at Nu-Phase was the only one who responded, and he booked me in promptly. He even gave the HVAC technician a call in advance so that he would have a better understanding of the problem.Neil showed up on time and got the fix done in no time. OK, so maybe most competent electricians could repair a blown circuit breaker but here were some touches that I thought put Neil into a different category:(a) Before starting the job he insisted on checking out the HVAC unit and confirming the factory amp and wattage specs. Why? Because often whatever was done at the time of install is wrong and Neil wanted to ensure that whatever work he did would stick and not lead to the same problems.(b) Throughout the job Neil explained what he was doing, taking the time to ensure that I understood. He said that he believed his solution would deal with the problem, but that if didn't he would be prepared to return and do whatever needs done. And of course, Neil's solution did deal with the problem.(c) While he was on-site, I also asked Neil to replace a light switch with a timer switch. He did that job very quickly, and again maybe most electricians could have as well. But when Neil was replacing the switch after wiring it up, he used a spirit level to ensure that the switch was going in vertically. He wanted to ensure that the switch and the panel would look right in relation to the door frame. And even the plate screws he rotated until the screwdriver notches in the screw heads were all vertical. Was any of this strictly necessary? No, but it sure showed an attention to detail and a commitment to craftsmanship that took me by surprise.(d) Lastly, I asked Neil about a bunch of exterior halogen lights and asked him what the cost would be to switch the units over to LED for power savings. Rather than answer the question, Neil informed me that within the last few months these lights had come out in an LED format and that the units did not need to be replaced. He also encouraged me to go onto the BC Hydro website and ensure that I took advantage of the power savings rebates being offered. Neil emphasized that he believes his obligation to his customers is to answer their questions honestly and to save their money where he can. He sure demonstrated that on this question. In short, I went with Neil simply on the strength of the web reviews. Boy did that work out. I have used Neil for a number of subsequent electrical jobs and he has been excellent every time. Would not hesitate to use him again for any electrical needs, or to recommend him for your needs. A nice guy who takes pride in his craft and does a first-class job.
Great service would 100% recommend.Neil installed 4 new heaters, 3 thermostats, and various plug socket/fan timer upgrades + fixed a range plug. What I liked most about Neil is his communication - he was always incredibly clear about what he was doing, where the money was going, and what difficulties we might face. E.g. my apartment is quite old and some upgrades he advised were not worth it instead of just pushing ahead for a larger job! Very reasonable price for the work done.He was very easy to coordinate timing with and flexible, also just clearly a really nice guy. Thanks!
