Reviews consistently mention courteous electricians who explain options and pricing before work begins. Many note successful panel and service upgrades completed on schedule, with clean results. Customers frequently highlight responsiveness, clear communication from the office and field teams, and fair pricing for larger projects.

Lost one leg of 220V/200A service… which, on our 60 year-old, all electric house, means we lost HVAC, Hot water, range and stove, dryer, EV charger, and even half of all the 120V circuits, randomly. In sub-freezing February.

And since it was an ancient Federal Electric breaker panel, known for 30+ years to be a fire hazard, ‘‘twas clearly past time for a load center replacement. .

Working with Ameren, Bathe’s people isolated the basic problem to a bad meter, apparently caused by an overheat in one leg of the main lead in circuit. Which they and Ameren then fixed.

In parallel, they removed the old load center, and installed a new, bigger, code-compliant one. Before (rats’ nest), and spotless new version shown. And while they were at it, also installed a new, interlocked Generator input.

All done in less than a day, and a bit over $4K.

We couldn’t be happier!

We had an overall great experience with J Bathe! Our new-to-us 1947 build home needed a full panel and meter/mast replacement. We first worked with Brendan who provided us a well-priced bid. When we added a few other tasks (diagnosing why our brand new dryer wasn’t heating, 3 GFCI installations, 1 outdoor GFCI installation, and replacement of some aluminum wiring with copper) this caused some confusion over email, but I received a call from the owner, Brad, who helped get it figured out and correct our estimate. Great customer service!
We experienced some delays due to the weather (waiting on an above-freezing day in February so the outdoor work could be done safely) but the front office staff Pam and Sherry were very communicative and kept me in the loop about rescheduling.
Although the outdoor work had to be postponed, I requested that someone still come out to fix our dryer issue so we could do laundry. Dan quickly realized our breaker was corroded out and found a solution! I really appreciated that they went above and beyond to help us out with this more pressing issue.
Our electricians for panel day were also fantastic! Jay and Andrew were friendly, showed up on time and quickly got started on this all-day job. Jay offered options as he discovered more interesting details about the wiring in our home. He was very patient and kind in answering my millions of questions. He also gave us helpful advice for some future project ideas we have. And he did relabel the panel (photo is from before he finished).
The work looks nice and neat, breakers were relabeled as before, all materials and messes were cleaned up and there was great care taken not to damage the outside of our home or the tile roof. Our city inspection also went well with no issues.
After interacting with 7 different people at J Bathe, I can say they have great customer service and I would 100% recommend them for a large job like this one and will be using them again in the future for smaller ones as well.

We scheduled J. Bathe to come out and do a few things for us; upgrading our service to 200amp, installing a larger panel, and installing multiple dedicated circuits. Jay, Tyler, and Mel were all very knowledgeable and very friendly, answering any questions I had. Everything was finished the same day and looks great! If needing work done in future I won't hesitate to call J Bathe and request any of the guys above again!

P.S. their pricing beats the competition!

Christine Lesicko on J. Bathe Electric Company

I had a great experience with JBathe Electric and especially Jay. He arrived promptly, kindly explained some of the quirks of my new-to-me old house, and gave me some guidance on what work was necessary, what was reasonable, and what wouldn’t be worth the cost. He explained how much things would cost and then installed GFCI outlets in my kitchen, including cutting some of the tile around the outlets that had been blocking the previous outlets from sitting straight. I am very happy with the work and especially with the knowledge that it was done both correctly and in an aesthetically pleasing way. Jay also cleaned everything up after the work and checked in to make sure it looked the way I wanted it. I will definitely use JBathe (and hopefully Jay) for any future electrical work.

Matthew Ruggeri on J. Bathe Electric Company

My experience with J. Bathe was great all around.

We were having a subpanel electrical box added on one side of the basement and five new outlets installed on the opposite end of the basement. Turnaround time was very reasonable, especially around the holidays and for requiring city permits. Our appointment to quote the project was 12/22/25 and the installation/completion date was 1/9/26. This could have been sooner if not for my schedule as the homeowner.

Each of the people we worked with were friendly and professional. From Brendan, who provided our quote, to Pam who contacted us for scheduling, and especially to our electrician Mike. Mike showed up on time and was very professional. He walked us through the process for everything being done and answered all of our questions. He was very patient with us and also friendly with my overly excited dog. After Mike finished, everything looked great and functioned as intended. I would personally request him by name for future electrical work on our home.
