I recently hired GMD Electric to install a generator interlock kit and a 50-amp generator inlet, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience.

From start to finish, the team was professional, punctual, and highly knowledgeable. They took the time to explain exactly how the interlock system works—which is a much safer and more cost-effective alternative to a traditional transfer switch.

What stood out to me:

Clean Installation: The wiring was incredibly neat, and the 50-amp inlet was mounted perfectly on the exterior of my home with a high-quality, weatherproof box.

Safety First: They thoroughly tested the interlock to ensure it’s impossible to have the main breaker and the generator breaker on at the same time, giving me total peace of mind.

Fair Pricing: The quote was transparent and competitive with no hidden fees or "surprises" at the end.

Education: Before leaving, they walked me through the proper startup sequence for my generator to ensure I don't overload the system.

These people are totally on point. Guys did a great job with recess lighting in my living room. Had some upgrades done on some of my outlets, upgraded my dining room light, new lighting in the garage and outside my house, new outdoor outlets, and added a new 220 outlet for my welder. They were efficient, friendly, cleaned up after themselves and the final results were way better than I expected. I totally recommend these guys.
