This company by far exceeded by expectations and is my go-to-electrician from now on. I bought a plug-in hybrid car which required modifications to my outside electrical sources. After going thru outfit after outfit on the internet who turned out not to be licensed (I once prosecuted cases for the Contractors' State License Board, so this is a big deal for me), then someone who was licensed and was prepared to do the work the next day without a permit, it dawned on me I could make a Public Records Act request of Pomona and Claremont, so see who had gotten permits for EV charger installations, and that is how I found A-1. Ray came out, took a good look, and impressed me with his expertise - and I am not easily impressed. He was also forthright in telling me what I didn't need, which is as important as what I did need. He got the permit, and waited in his truck in the rain the next day for the inspector to arrive. He is extremely conscientious. And his price was eminently reasonable, comparing it to what I was offered without a permit. I am going to call him for more work that needs to be done, and would un qualifiedly recommend him for any electrical.

With Ray’s 30 years experience he is familiar how to handle details from working with Edison, city permit requirements, and scheduling inspections. Our project was to update our 1979 circuit breaker box and increase the amp called out by our new homeowners insurance company. After his initial home visit, he came back the next day prepared to get the job done - we were under a short deadline by the insurance company and Ray didn’t waste any time completing the job. We were very impressed.His work is impeccable, his price was fair and we highly recommend A-1 Electrical for any projects you may have.
I have worked with Ray on multiple jobs. From small electrical corrections to a large sized job where we needed a whole new electrical panel installed. Each and every time, Ray was professional, courteous and prompt. He always shows up when he says he's going to. He gives you a detailed quote so there are no surprises but always advises about any "what ifs" that could later impact pricing down the road, so there are never any surprises. I work wirh many independent contractors for a variety of repairs but electrical is such a specialized industry that i needed to be sure the person I'm working with can get the job done.
