TL;DR: Do not work with Stecho Electric.Where to begin. I have an EV coming and I need a home charging station installed. I called them to get a quote on installing a 240V line for the new EV charging station. They scheduled for a day I had already taken off work which was great! I did have to rearrange my day to fit the visit in (a 4 hour window from 8am to noon). At 11:45am of the day, I called them to determine where they were. I was told "Oh, your guy is off today. Can you reschedule?" I was obviously miffed that they couldn't INFORM me but sure, let's keep going. Rescheduled.I get a call from them a few days later (NOT the newly scheduled date) as they have me scheduled in for the visit. I politely INFORM them that no, you scheduled me for this other day. They agree and hang up.They arrive on the appropriately scheduled day and take their pictures and everything needed. They ask which charger I am using. I say "I don't have one yet, what would you suggest? I am not getting a Tesla." I am told they would get back to me with the quote and INFORM me of the options.A week has passed with no quote or information. I call late morning to get an update but get shunted to voice-mail. I leave a message to get back to me with information. They do not call back.I call again 24 hours later to which they let me know that "We are not quoting on that since you are not getting an electric car." I have to clearly lay out that, yes, I am getting an EV and it is coming in a month or two. They profusely apologize and say they will INFORM me of the quote.I call 3 days later. I am told they are still working on the quote.It has been a week now and they have yet to INFORM me of anything. To be clear, "We do not wish to quote on this," is a completely valid answer. However, it is generally a good idea to INFORM your bloody customers of this choice.Don't ever call Stecho. They don't deserve your business.
Cannot say enough good things about their technician Joe (he has done work for me and also for my parents) We have used him about 5 times for things around the house. He is very professional, personable and neat. The company charges reasonably. I made the mistake of going with a competitor several months because I could not get a hold of anyone at Stecho (that is a rare occurrence) and was charged almost double what Stecho would have charged. I have never been disappointed by Stecho.
