Excellent service, right from estimate to project completion. David was friendly, knowledgeable and thoroughly answered all my questions regarding future electrical projects. He quickly took care of my project. I highly recommend using this company.
I called Hilltop Electric off of Google as Hilltop Plumbing has fantastic reviews, but this is a separate division that has been around for about two years that I know of. I spoke to Alex the Owner/Manager who was really helpful. He said he’d send someone out in a few days after the weekend/holiday which was perfectly fine. My power went on one side of my house for an unknown reason.Alex and I discussed it would be easily solved by an experienced electrician and I told him my budget, he said anywhere from $90-130 typically for something like that to just diagnose upon the initial visit which I agreed to.Nic showed up not on time and before he even came into my home he was complaining that it was his day off and that he drove all the way out from Maple Ridge to help me. I immediately thanked him and felt bad. He then proceeded to look at my breaker box, look at the three outlets that were affected (not working) and noticed that the one at the front of the line was indeed working. He proceeded to take the outlet covers off, pull the outlets out and check in and around them. We didn’t talk much, but he gave me a couple of ideas that could work to restore power when he comes back another day. He seemed very confused, but I understand and respect that he is the professional in this situation and I told him many times that I appreciate him trying his best. He said he’d come out the next day.The following morning around 8-9am I called Hilltop Electric as I didn’t get a text or anything and he said he wasn’t feeling well and he probably wouldn’t be coming out. He left the outlets loose and said it’s not an immediate issue and I told him that I had another Electrician come out after he left as I felt he really didn’t have a solid solution or explanation to the problem. It turns out that every single outlet in my home (20 to be exact) were loose, damaged, drywall screws under the electric wires. Some outlets were just half connected, every single one was loose. The most important thing is that half of them melted. The worst melted damaged outlet is the one where the power went (but the breaker didn’t go). I don’t expect anybody to come in and know with 100% accuracy what is wrong or what a solution may be, I do, however, expect them to point out and not leave melted and loose wiring in somebody’s house with no real eta to fix it. This should’ve been brought to my attention.I spoke to him and said very nicely I don’t want to go back and forth, let's just leave it. The day he was here I asked him is there an invoice? What do I owe you? (Before I found out he left loose melted outlets in my home) Nic refused to provide me with a verbal or written agreement. I didn’t get an invoice until one month later without a phone call or a text. The invoice says “customer not happy with solution provided.” The so-called solutions weren’t addressing the problem at all. It would take anybody two seconds even without a certified education to figure out how unsafe and damaged those outlets were. It’s beyond unethical and unprofessional. Not to mention it’s an inflated amount of $260 with a discount because I was “unhappy.” Unhappy doesn’t even cover it, but I was respectful and thought he would understand the situation.Last thing I want to do is harp on an issue. But I spoke to him again today and he has no remorse. He also says that nothing was melted, nothing was loose. I can confirm otherwise as I have all of the original hardware and took pictures of everything with timestamps.I am flabbergasted and really disappointed by the level of service provided. I don’t know why this happened, but the lack of remorse, care or consideration is beyond me.
A neighbour had recommended Hilltop for an electrician. So I called them on a Thursday morning to see about getting an electrician to do a few things. Magically, they had space for the Friday morning due to other projects having been completed in less time than expected! John arrived promptly at 8 am on the Friday. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He did the troubleshooting and new outlet installation I had requested, both efficiently and cleanly. Price was fair. I have only great things to say about him and by extension, Hilltop. I will definitely call them back the next time I need anything electrical!! And I would recommend them to anyone needing a residential job done.
We had Hilltop Electric remove an old ceiling fan and install a new one. Alex and his colleague were very friendly and professional. They arrived within minutes of the scheduled appointment and completed the work involved clean and expeditiously. 10/10 for every category from price to professionalism and friendliness to the short time it took to get the project done. Will call Hilltop again in the future and I do not hesitate in recommending them for any of your electrical needs.
Very professional electrical service from the beginning of the job to it's conclusion. Alex provided a very reasonable quote for the multi item job. His knowledge of all things electrical provided us with confidence in the company's abilities. Jonathan was the electrician who came to our home to do the work and he is so incredibly skilled in his trade. My wife and I were amazed by his problem solving skills and his knowledge of how to make everything perfect. We will never hesitate to call Hilltop Electrical for future work.
