don't deal with this company, wanted to get flooring done in our bedroom, went to their location on Yonge St a couple of times, spoke with Celia, she told me she could get the flooring but it would take a few weeks, I said great no problem ! she gave me pricing, and I agreed and said lets proceed , but send me a quote in writing first just so we are all on the same page. Called & e mailed her numerous times to get the quote , nothing this went on for about two weeks, finally gave up figuring this was a bad sign, if they did the work and there were problems, I would never hear from them. I went to a company in Newmarket, got great service and a quote that very same day, and their pricing was actually a lot more competitive , and their supplier had it in stock. Done deal. Just a note I think Aurora Floor Center & Green city in Aurora are related some how but the refuse to admit it, something fishy going on there. Buyer beware. Dave Aurora
First time I did a painting job for them, after few weeks they paid me(not in full, they made up a excuse to deducted 500 dollars) but because I don’t have many job I took second job form them , but this time , after I finish my job I ask house owner to check my job , after I done my job few weeks later that still not want to pay me , this time they made up some excuses too try to deduct the money , but I had house owner support, I won’t agree they become so mad, Frankie told me he is not ganna pay me,3months passed they don’t pick up my phone call and just disappeared. They are terrible people. They damaged they customer’s stair and floor and they try to smear other people all time.
Scam , beware . They make you pay cash ,,, no receipts ,,, our kitchen sink plumbing leaked everywhere. We had to call our insurance for the damage done to our home , then we found out there was no permits taken out ( which is the contractors responsibility) and now our insurance company gets no answer from Celia . And no tax’s getting paid CRA needs to look into this cash washing machine . Fraud Stay Away
Review on “GREENCITY CONSTRUCTION & DESIGN” and “AURORA CABINETRY & FLOOR CENTRE”Frankie Kong and Celia He are very nice people to deal with until the work is done and problems arise (within 2 months of completion), then it’s REALLY hard to get a hold of them.We had a complete renovation done on our bungalow and annex; 2 new kitchens, 2 new master bathrooms, 1 3-piece bathroom, 2 powder rooms, 2 laundry rooms, all rooms painted and new flooring throughout both units.They knew we had a deadline (we had to be out of our sold house) and they told us this would not be a problem. They worked right up to the deadline date and had to come back after we moved in to finish work.The first problem that arose was with the plumbing and after consulting with a local plumber (because we couldn’t get a hold of Frankie or Celia), we were informed that the plumbing was NOT done to Canadian code! We have since had local plumber do a lot of changes, obviously at a cost.Second problem was that some of the electrical work done by them was also NOT according to code, this was of course worrisome. Celia told us things were done correctly and was not willing to make changes. As we were very concerned (fire hazard), we had an electrician make the changes according tocode and this was another cost.The third problem was because we had a fireplace removed, they took the chimney off the roof and patched it with some roofing tiles. As soon as we had hard rain, the roof started leaking and now we have a huge patch in the kitchen where water from the roof leaked into the attic and to the kitchen ceiling. We had a roofing company repatch the roof (waterproofing done too this time), so another extra cost. But the kitchen ceiling still has the water stain!The very biggest issue we have is with the flooring, both tiling and vinyl flooring. The ceramic tiles (2’x2’) in the hallways have hollow areas underneath and the grout started coming out within a few months in many places. The rest of the flooring throughout is vinyl flooring, and this is bulging in many places, has hollow spots in places and some planks have started to crack, so very disappointing. Frankie eventually came to have a look at the floors and told us he would get in touch with the manufacturer regarding the vinyl flooring. He also promised to send someone to re-do the grouting. That was the last we saw or heard from him; this was in May (it is now August).Since moving into the house in December 2020 (20 months ago) and issues started, we have called both Frankie and Celia many times. Most times calls are ignored, or it takes days/weeks to hear back.Our advice: NEVER GET INVOLVED WITH EITHER OF THESE 2 COMPANIES (THEY ARE 1 ANYWAY)!
Had a lot of difficulty finding a contractor to do my stairs and even more of a runaround with varying prices. Aurora Cabinetry & Floor Centre not only gave us the best price to do the work but they did a excellent job and I couldn't be happier. Would definitely recommend this company to anyone.
