It saddens me to not give Wide Plank Hardwood a stunning review. We renovated our home in 2021 and had a very good experience. We moved and decided to hire them again as the previous experience was very good.Unfortunately, the gentleman that we worked with retired and there is a new sales associate. I should have noticed the red flags from our first conversation. He quoted one price over the phone and then when a quote was received, what he said did not match to the quote. When I inquired as I also could look at our previous invoice and asked questions. His response "you cant believe what I say over the phone". We do not hire companies or individuals who are not honest and transparent. Secondly, we do not live in the lower mainland anymore and it was a nightmare dealing with him. In writing, he put that there were logistics for where we live. From day one I communicated were we live and what our delivery needs were. He did not listen and would gaslight me at every conversation and also play the victim which is not something as a home owner you can trust. I would not trust to deal with this person as you will be taken advantage of and over charged for materials and install. Every conversation after our signed quote was for more money. This is not an individual you can trust with a very expensive purchase for your home.I would like to say that the owners Joyce whom I spoke with was caring and attentive and I believe that they care for each of their customers. This may be a learning moment for an employee and I appreciate all the conversations that I had with her. We are the third family, within our extended family here on Vancouver Island, to order floors from Wide Plank Hardwood. There's a reason why we keep coming back! Firstly, the product is second to none (You will not find a better product for the price . . . . guaranteed). Secondly, this is a small local family business and the owners are amazing people. If you miss the days of customer service, integrity and honesty, then treat yourself and deal with a business that actually cares. I would recommend this business to anyone!
A spectacular product however beyond that the service is incredible. Ever since I walked into their showroom I have been amazed with their willingness to go the extra mile. Can’t imagine a better hardwood flooring company than the people at Wide Plank.
I had some very specific floors in mind and the people and Wide Plank made that happen. The people there are very friendly and helpful. I had a LOT of questions during the process as this was new for me, and they where always there to answer them.I cant be happier with my floors.
The owners of Wide Plank are amazing people. Even though they do mostly small jobs for me that are sometimes finicky they are always so kind and thoughtful. They always thank me for my business and welcome me back. They always do an outstanding job. They care about their customers. It is hard to find businesses like this. I highly recommend them for any of their products or services!!
