Recent reviews note mixed experiences, with several customers reporting challenges around returns, damaged items, and follow-up communication after purchases. Some feedback mentions long waits and difficulty resolving issues at the service desk. Earlier positive comments highlight helpful staff and broad product variety, though price competitiveness is occasionally questioned.
Do NOT recommend buying appliances there. The sales person was nice until the sale was finalized. We got our fridge and it was damaged. We wanted a new one and we never heard from the sales person again. We dealt with a different sales person only to be told lies over and over. 3 weeks later and still dealing with returning a fridge. The manager was no help in fixing or honoring what the sales person promised. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere.
This was one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve had. I lost my receipt, but the purchase was on a charge account, which should have been easy to look up. Instead, the staff didn’t seem to know how — or want — to figure it out. I waited 45 minutes for someone who knew what they were doing. In the end, they could only offer a gift card, which was fine. However, when they struggled to even process that and saw I was getting frustrated, I was told that if I had my receipt I wouldn’t have been inconvenienced. That’s not how you speak to a customer. The issue wasn’t the policy — it was the lack of training and the attitude. No customer should be made to feel like a burden for asking for help. This is hands down the worst hardware store in town and is now my last resort. Other hardware stores in town the staff are friendly and go out of there way to help and actually know what they’re talking about.
We purchased a Skil saw a few days ago, and upon first use, it was clearly surging and not functioning properly. My father-in-law, who has experience using power tools, immediately identified the issue and informed us that the saw was not operating as it should. We returned to the store today expecting assistance with a defective product. Unfortunately, the customer service representative was dismissive and unwilling to help. We were told the saw was “dusty” and that this was the reason for the issue, despite the fact that it was dusty because it had been briefly used to test its functionality.Instead of inspecting the issue or offering an exchange or return, we were instructed to contact Craftsman directly. This is extremely frustrating. When a product is purchased from your store and found to be defective shortly after purchase, customers should not be redirected elsewhere for resolution. This experience was disappointing and did not meet reasonable customer service expectations
My wife and I just completed a major home renovation and originally planned to use Rona for several things, including a new kitchen and bathrooms. When their team came to take measurements for the kitchen and washrooms, the representative seemed more focused on questioning who was doing work in our home rather than performing accurate measurements. He came across as unprofessional and pushy, which immediately raised concerns. Later, we discovered the measurements provided were inaccurate and incomplete. This motivated us to go with a local cabinet shop instead. We still tried to give Rona business by ordering appliances, which turned into a nightmare. The induction range we ordered months in advance arrived damaged—the front drawer would not open properly. They sent a replacement, and it was damaged too. Their solution? A $400 rebate on a $3,000 stove. I declined. When we finally plugged in all the appliances at the end of the reno, the fridge didn’t work. My wife called the store, and they told her to call KitchenAid directly. It was past there 48hr policy and that's that. The fridge sat in our Kitchen for a few weeks while the reno was being finished before we plugged it in. Zero respect for customers and absolutely brutal customer service. The store is understaffed, and it shows.I’ve lived in Fort McMurray for over 25 years, and I am 100% done with Rona. I wouldn’t go back there to buy a light bulb.
Its a Rona, what's there not to like about it, except that prices could be a bit more competitive. Usually on the pricier side compared to cdn tire. For this location, staff has always been helpful and kind. Variety of great products in summer n spring for yard n home.
