Five stars honestly isn't enough for the job Baldwin Family Flooring did. We have a 135lb dog who destroyed our old floors, so we needed something indestructible. It was important to me to find a local owner who cared about their reputation, and that is exactly what we found with Norm and Baldwin Family Flooring.Norm brought samples of the product to our house and demonstrated the durability of a product that came with a lifetime warranty. He was very honest about the process and what his company could do and also what they couldn't do. We wanted to refinish our stairs and the banisters/railing to match the new floors. Norm explained how handrails were made and how, with lighter stains, they will end up looking terrible where the pieces of wood are joined. He very easily could have kept quiet about that and made some extra money doing more work.Fast forward to day 1 of our project (which was the entire first floor of our home, almost 3K sq ft) and the crew showed up exactly when he said they would. They were kind and very respectful of our home, furniture and everything and everyone they came in contact with. They worked very hard and I think they only took like 15 minutes for lunch. Demo was particularly difficult given the amount of glue the builder used to install what they had to tear up. None of the crew complained though, they just cranked right through it. We had a large island with a mitered edge countertop we installed after the existing floors were installed that, if moved, would have made their job a lot easier. Marcus, the project manager, carefully looked at it and explained that it was meticulously leveled and if it wasn't put back perfectly we would run the risk of a stress fracture months from now. Again, they chose the option that was worse for them to ensure our happiness with the results.They were able to finish the entire project in 2 days, which is truly remarkable. They worked into the night on day 2 so that we could have our house back. As if all of that wasn't enough, the quality of the work was outstanding. There's no chance that anyone could tell the floors had been replaced. We have a little "garage" built into a custom cabinet in our pantry that Norm looked at and warned us they might not be able to replace all the way but the crew found a way - it's literally perfect when though it's hidden and no one would ever look in there.When I made my reference calls to previous customers of Baldwin Family Flooring, I actually looked the people up to confirm they were real as these people took time out of their days to talk to a complete stranger and gush about a flooring company. I didn't understand their motivation at the time but now I do, when you have an experience so thoroughly satisfying there's a sense of duty to share that with others. Hopefully that's what I've done here.
From the estimate to finish the customer service was excellent. We brought in 3 companies to bid and they were the choice from the start We had 2 large rooms and 1 closet done in a day and half. The craftsmanship was unbelievable. They paid attention to detail and checked and rechecked. It was done superbly the first time. They cleaned up everything when done and you would not even know they were here except for the perfectly laid floor. Would give them a 10 if I could.
Baldwin Family Flooring did a beautiful job adding hardwood flooring to my master bedroom. On time, meticulous work, and they managed to maneuver around my very heavy and quite cumbersome king-sized bed frame. They worked within my budget, for which I’m eternally grateful. I’m saving my pennies to do hardwood on my stairs and my other bedrooms. And I’ll definitely use them again.
Norm and his team were great to work with when shopping and purchasing our new carpet. Norm brought out samples for us to choose from and gave us advice on carpet styles and padding. Once the contract was signed norm kept us in the loop on the whole process. His installation team couldn’t have been better. They were quick and thorough. Did an excellent clean up at the end of the job. Made sure everything was to our satisfaction. We are so happy to recommend Baldwin Family Flooring!
Norm was so great to work with. He came quickly to quote replacing all our upstairs carpet with laminate, gave a reasonable price and explained the process very well. The crew showed up on time and worked so hard. They completely tore out all the old carpet and replaced it in one day. I love my floors! It makes me happy every time I see them. Would absolutely use Baldwin Family flooring again!
