McNamara's Flooring Studio

I recently built a home with VanArbor and had to use McNamara for the flooring as they are both owned by the same family...I was a bit hesitant doing this. As it turned out, the two companies couldn't have been more different. The team at McNamara are professional, creative and easy to work with! They didn't lie to or gaslight me and seemed genuinely interested in making my new house beautiful and incorporated my style...it was a fun experience and I learned a LOT about tiles and grout! McNamara and I discovered VanArbor ordered the wrong tiles (not even the same size, colour or style)...they helped me sort everything out seamlessly. The install was perfect. Their install team made the usually boring stairs into the basement a focal point and visitors are impressed by both the stairs and the custom tiles. The Bohemian tiles the designer (I am so sorry, I don't remember her name, but she was awesome) and I picked are beautiful and she got the grout colour and trim perfect! Now, McNamara isn't inexpensive, BUT in the end, I didn't mind paying a little more to get their professionalism, quality and creativity. I would definitely recommend McNamara! Thank you for making this part of the build so wonderful!

I made the mistake of paying them in full for a job that was 99% completed and now I can’t get them back to finish. I should’ve held back some money until they finished. I have a new home under construction and McNamaras will not be hired for that project or anything else in the future.

A very mediocre experience with a mediocre store offering. The young lady at the desk was pleasant and greeted me. When I had a question I would walk over to her and enquire. No one really approached me and I was left to peruse by myself. The products they did carry varied in quality, from inexpensive basic Product of China to better higher end Anderson/Karastan lines. Not a very extensive lineup of any product lines. Wood, LVP/LVT, broadloom all relatively basic offerings. Pricing seemed to be in line with other stores in the area. I was hoping to find some nice wool broadloom for the bedrooms to no avail. Same Godfrey Hirst displays as everywhere else. Not impressed on my Monday afternoon visit.

I paid McNamara’s to get new vinyl installed in my bathroom. On the date of installation, two incredibly nice installers came, both ripped up and disposed of my old flooring, and disconnected my toilet. The installers returned to the warehouse to get my vinyl. About an hour later, the general manger called, saying that my vinyl was gone. I asked what happened, how they were going to fix it, why the old flooring was ripped up without the new flooring, and how quickly the correct flooring could be re-ordered. I was given no helpful answers and felt the way the manager addressed my questions was dismissive of the seriousness of the situation. The manager offered two alternative flooring options, saying one of the options was the same flooring I ordered but in a grey colour. The flooring I ordered does not come in grey. I said no to both options as neither were the vinyl I picked out, despite one option being communicated to me as an “upgrade.” I told the manager that they had to at least make my bathroom functional, and I asked for my money back. The installers came back and put in a temporary floor. Moreover, the manger did refund my deposit. I am giving this review two stars because while the situation never should have transpired, I appreciate that I currently have a functional bathroom and was refunded.

Joel & the team at McNamara's Flooring are amazing. We had a flooring emergency and the turnaround time was impressive and the service excellent. Their team put together an extensive variety of options and made things happen well within the timeline we required. Even while squeezing us in to their busy schedule, the attention to detail was on target and we couldn't be more satisfied. And on top of that, the pricing was extremely competitive. This is the second time we have worked with McNamara's and both times they have delivered above and beyond. Thank you very much!
