Mark and his crew are AMAZING!! They walked us through the entire process, from planning and selecting wood and styles. Our job wasn't the biggest, but the level of attentiveness and care made us feel incredible.We dreaded the demolition and prep stages, having heard nightmares from other people about dust and disruption. There was NONE of that! Whatever magic machines they used did the job.Next came the selection of materials, and Mark explained everything so clearly. He helped us pick a high-character red oak that fits our home aesthetic perfectly.As the installation proceeded, I listened to the craftsmanship - each board was chosen to be placed exactly where it would make the most impact. Who knew THAT was a thing?! The crew was always on time, always respectful that I worked from home, and always picked up at the end of the day.Now that the finish is a few weeks old, I can happily report that the floor is gorgeous and flawless! It will be the last and best floor we ever buy for this house.
Mark knows what he is doing, has a great eye for details and gets the job done beautifully.The original hardwood flooring that we found under the cheep flip job flooring was a mess. Sections had been cut into to get to the sub flooring, large areas had paint damage and other ares where missing material. Our house is old and not completely even or level either, but some how he made the floors look perfect. 5 Stars to the extensive subfloor repair, weaving new material and restoration of the original material. My husband and I can't be more happy with the out come.Mark is also quick to respond and very easy to communicate with.Now the reason I gave the 4 stars is a reflection of how the calculation of estimates was handled. My husband and I were very forgiving a few different times when it came to numbers and estimates that were generated. Without going too far into detail, bottom line is triple check the numbers and ask him to do the same before he has to make excuses or plead for forgiveness for calculation/estimate errors. Thankfully his calculation skills don't reflect on the kind of work he does. He truly is a master of his craft.
We found Golden Oak Flooring through on-line reviews after we purchased our home in Petaluma. Our home had some existing red oak flooring that we wanted to refinish as well as install new oak flooring throughout the house to match the existing. Mark came in a gave us a competitive estimate. He was very professional, on time and knowledgeable. He took the time to walk us through options and had patience with us as we changed our minds several times during the design process which caused him to rework his bids.The work was performed as expected with a very high degree of detail and craftsmanship. Looking at the areas were the new floor was installed next to the existing, we could not tell the difference. We are extremely pleased with Mark's company and the final result.We have since damaged the floor and had Mark come back to do some minor repairs. Again, he was prompt in his response and demonstrated exceptional customer service. I highly recommend Golden Oak Flooring for your flooring project.
