It’s always unnerving to contract services from someone you’ve never met before, no matter what their business is. We recently sought an installer for plank tiling at our home. Evens at Absolute Hardwood Floors had very positive reviews and we decided to go with him. We weren’t disappointed! Not only were we extremely satisfied with his workmanship and skill, but also his professionalism and kindness. He and his team were prompt, courteous and extremely hard working. Trust me, if you need any tiling completed Evens is the man to call! Like me, you’ll be glad you did!!

We had a disappointing experience with this company. We selected Evans as he said he could get the project done quicker than other companies, with less disruption. However, he made several commitments that he then broke and then rather than take ownership of that, he turned those issues around on us and said it was our fault and that he hadn't made the commitments. Our project was delayed several times and he ended up using staff from a different company to do the work and he acted as an inspector (not necessarily a bad thing but something to be aware of, it was not communicated that way to us).

We hired Evans to replace a section of floor which had been damaged by a water leak from a faulty filter in our fridge. About two months after the work was complete we noticed that the filler between the boards had broken down (see photos). We spoke to Evans who eventually came out to look, four months later, after numerous messages and calls and false promises that he was 'looking into it'. He said that we still had a leak and that we needed to look into that, but if no damp was found that he could come back out and replace the filler for us. We looked into it and there was no damp or leaks, which made no sense anyway given the source of the leak and the fact that the fridge was replaced immediately following the leak. We followed up with him once we confirmed there were no remaining issues with leaks and he said he would take care of it. He then did not respond to texts, or calls and has effectively ghosted us. We have given him ample time to respond and fix the issue but he has not.

Overall the rest of the floors were sanded and stained well but they did a poor job with the repair and they were not a good company to work with. In addition, damage was done to the base of our kitchen island with no acknowledgement or apology and stain was all over the baseboards and the base of the kitchen island (which a little prep work would have prevented). We wouldn't recommend this company.
