If you're looking for upholstery, shouldn't you go to an upholstery shop, meet with an upholsterer, or speak with someone who knows first hand, through experience the process and application of upholstery? Not just a salesperson but someone that's able to stand behind the work completed.Sure, I get you want the best bang for your buck...This salesperson/showroom is pimping your furniture to upholsterers, and making money off their labor. They're picking up your piece of furniture and dropping off to whoever can complete the work most cheap: so that they can make their cut.Shake hands with and support the people that actually do the labor: not the middle folk making money off them.
Gene Sprowl, the owner, has been in the business for decades. He's a man of exceptional character ... an all-around fine human being. You won't go wrong by choosing Dalgenes for your interior needs.
We bought Anderson Tuftex solution-dyed nylon carpeting for the upstairs of our home in February 2022. Immediately thereafter the health issues began - feeling like my lungs were packed with burning fiberglass insulation, coughing uncontrollably, hacking up buckets of phlegm, eyeballs and skin itching and burning like crazy. My wife talked with the owner several times, who gave vague advice about getting used to the carpet and how offgassing was normal, to vacuum without using the beater brush, etc., but didn't offer to do anything to remediate the situation.Buying a new top-rated vacuum, top-rated air purifier, and having the carpets cleaned twice and treated with a sealant didn't help at all. Spreading a14-lb. bag of baking soda, then vacuuming after a couple of hours did nothing other than clog the vacuum. I moved downstairs. My wife had no symptoms and was sure the problem was in my head. Visits to allergists and counselors (especially the counselors) were a further total waste of time and money, but did succeed in putting a ton of stress on our relationship. A pulmonologist advised us to pull the carpet out. We kept hoping that it would get done "offgassing", but I believe the problem was actually airborne fibers- and it never got better at all. After a year of this hell, we replaced it with wool carpet from another store. Problems all solved. I can breathe again and no longer want to claw my eyeballs out. This fiasco cost me $20K to fix, which doesn't count the cost of the problem carpeting and padding, which is all now in a landfill.Review is two stars because Dalgene's wasn't informed during the selection of my asthma (mild until this) or my allergy to the carpet (unknown before this), otherwise the review would be one star.
We had a perfect customer experience at Dalgenes. So rare! Terry was particularly helpful, honest, responsive to questions, with great follow-through and attention to detail. The price was very good, installation was impeccable, seaming was minimal. To say we are satisfied is an understatement. This place is a gem. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.
I searched for engineered hardwood floor for more than one month and got quotes from different companies. Dalgenes offered the best price. The owner, Gene, is very helpful and easy to work with. His installation crew, Carlos, did a great job installing the hardwood floor and was very into the details. I would highly recommend Dalgene to my friends and will consider work with them again for future projects.
