My father hired Hamernick’s to replace forty year-old carpeting that covered every inch of our house. Replaced with carpet in some areas, other main spaces with wood flooring.Everyone, from installers to the sales professionals, were very helpful when it came to communication & clarity for prep and aftercare. The team installing hit a couple snags with the subfloor, but were quick and affordable when it came to problem solving (never felt like they were trying to unnecessarily upsell you).Overall a great experience! Very happy with the results, they do excellent work and are very personable. Highly recommend!
Five Stars and AboveI have worked with Chara Sievert Interior Designer from Hamernick’s Decorating Center for three major projects in my home (countertops, carpeting and now floors in my kitchen, entrance way and bathrooms). She is a true professional as well as an expert in her field. She listened to what I wanted for my floors, allowed me to take home samples of flooring and even came out to my home to match designs and make recommendations.I can be a very demanding customer, in fact, a real perfectionist when it comes to my home. I can honestly say Chara did it all right, she exceeded my expectations. She provided pricing quotes from the start, the pricing was very reasonable, there were no hidden expenses whatsoever.I must mention Billy our installer who went above and beyond. Pros: We were happy with Hamernick’s pricing and product selection for a residential job replacing floors with carpet and LVP all throughout our new home.Cons: It took more than 8 weeks to finish a job that could have been completed in 3 days. Install complications were exacerbated by the company never sending out a rep to assess in person despite several calls back. Instead, 4 different install crews were sent, each with little understanding of the project parameters and needing to be brought up to speed.The extended timeline and confusion made for a stressful experience. Ultimately we were exhausted enough by the whole ordeal we didn’t even ask them to come back out — again — to correct issues with the carpeted stair installation.March 2024 update: We are grateful that Hamernick's contacted us to replace the stair carpeting. Thank you for making it right!
In August 2023 Hamernick's installed new hardwood flooring on the entire main floor of my new house, and carpeting on the lower level. This is the fourth house where Hamernick's has installed flooring for us since 2000. They do excellent work and have an almost overwhelming range of options. They worked patiently with me in consulting to find just the right products, and brought in the lead from their hardwood division to review my preferences and discuss many options with me.In the end, the floor that Jim recommended was absolutely perfect, providing the quality and character I was looking for at a reasonable price. The carpeting I purchased was Shaw, and it was the same product that I'd installed five years earlier in a prior house. Because it lasted so well without fading or wear, I decided to go with it again.The installers for these floors were different teams, but they were all friendly and professional, arriving on time, and working hard and efficiently throughout the day.I'm extraordinarily pleased with Hamernick's work, and would make only one suggestion--that they improve communications about the work progress. I wasn't always sure whether the jobs were starting and finishing as scheduled, or at what time the teams would arrive. Better use of some email/texting software could help them a lot.
