Blue Ridge Custom Homes uses L&L as a vender/subcontractor. I spent $50,000 on high end LVP and Tile. It was a pleasure to work with the salesperson Andre. A floor sample was ordered for me free of charge so I could coordinate other aspects of my home as they do not let samples leave the store. Andre promised me the installer, Dee, would give me the white glove treatment. If my installation was the white glove treatment, I would hate to know what is the regular treatment. It was amateur hour the whole way.Tile:Clumps of grout left on the tiles instead of being washed completely clean. Too much grout taken out of the spaces between tiles exposing the actual tile edge. Grout spilled and left on the LVP planks destroying them. Even chipped tile installed with just extra grout to cover it up!LVP:My specific LVP had 6 patterned planks that had to have been installed right out of the box. The same exact pattern laid right bot to each other in clumps and damaged tiles laid anyway. As they are a subcontractor through my builder, it falls to my builder to work through getting this corrected so I don’t know what that process would be like through L&L, but I recommend finding an independent and reputable installer if you do purchase anything from L&L.
L & L Flooring installed beautiful flooring in my home. Unfortunately, I discovered that the worker/s helped themselves to food that I had on top of my refrigerator. On the last day of the job, I found that the worker/s had been in a medicine cabinet in my home while I was away at work. I viewed ( using my Ring) the owner, Mark, opening a wardrobe closet in my garage. I spoke to Mark about this a few days later about the above, and was told that he was looking for trash bags. He did not apologize, and was unable to explain why a worker had been in my medicine cabinet. Mark and his crew were neat, and installed beautiful flooring. I would advise NOT to have L & L Flooring in your home unless you can be present.
Too Long; Didn't Read: An amazing local flooring company. They fixed and refinished 2 stories of floors within 2 weeks. Wonderful work and wonderful people. Their storefront is also great for all flooring needs including great rugs!Long Version: My fiancé and I recently purchased our first home in June 2020. Once we ripped the carpets, we found out why they covered the hardwood with carpet: holes in the floor (from wall removal during earlier renovations). We called L&L and Mark (the owner) came out quickly to let us know what we were dealing with and provided us with our estimate within 24 hours. His 20+ years of flooring experience really shined. He identified the different species of wood and the custom cut to the flooring (which indicated it was from a local mill - Cass. WV). He was able to custom cut planks to match our current floor, and interlay them into the floor where we previously had some holes (see pictures below). He also added some support to the flooring where he noticed some slack. The man is a master at his craft and it shows in his work. Trust his opinion. Once the holes were fixed, L&L sanded all our floors, stained, finished, and installed shoe molding that matched the floor. It has been nearly 5 months since they completed the job and we are still completely satisfied in L&L's work. Mark and his team were professional, hard-working, and pleasant. Everything you want in a small, local business: a group of great people that do great work. Additionally, their storefront has a wonderful selection of flooring, fantastic rugs (picked by Mark himself), and other accessories. We have already gone back to purchase rugs and more flooring (for our bathrooms that were not hardwood). I implore you to use L&L for your next floor project. I hope they're around for many years to come.
Boy, did we get lucky!! Built a beautiful home in Afton three years ago, and paid dearly for cherished reclaimed pine flooring throughout. Architect and builder made horrible decisions on finish for the flooring, resulting in dull, dark, unattractive and easily scratched floors.Couldn't live with the result any longer, so gave the whole project for a redo to Mark Simmons at L&L Floor Company. Major inconvenience for us, but SO worth it!!!! Mark worked with us to produce a custom color for the finish, spot tested it first, involving several home visits until we were happy, and ultimately delivered the floor of our dreams!! It added so much inherent character to the entire home and richly enhanced the charm and investment of the original reclaimed pine.Additionally, I cannot say enough about the professionalism of Mark, his son, Lucian, and the rest of their team. They worked diligently straight through, including weekends, to finish in a timely fashion. A very messy job, but they cleaned up beautifully. This family run company is old-school at its best: honest, dependable, and productive. They know their stuff, deliver a first class product, and will not finish a job until the client is entirely satisfied. I couldn't ask for more...unless I asked for more businesses like L&L Floors!!!I remain indebted to them for a job well done!!!
Mark did an outstanding job refinishing my 28 years old hardwood cherry floors. I thought they were beyond refinishing but Mark assured me they could be beautiful and they are! I am still in awe as to how great they look and the cost was extremely reasonable. Thanks once again Mark and Lucien for a job well done!
