Alain from Woodfellow Flooring restored our vintage Douglas Fir floors and restored the life and beautiful in them. His workmanship is stellar! He was the only floor refinishing expert that said he could restore our floors to the desired level. After consulting with several floor restoration experts, I had nearly given up hope that they could be salvaged.We had rented the house and the floor had been ruined by our tenants and their dog. The floors were badly stained with black spots from dog urine, scratched extensively and with some very deep gouges from heavy furniture being dragged over the floors.I had other leading floor refinishing experts in the Victoria area give us quotes and estimates on refinishing the floors. Two said that they could redo the floors but that they would not be able to remove all of the damage done to the floors and that some scarring and marks would still remain after refinishing them. Two other floor refinishing professionals said that it was not possible to refinish the floors due to the extent of the damage and that replacing the floors altogether was the best solution.This news discouraged me deeply, and although Alain said he could restore the floors I was skeptical. After doing my due diligence and getting these reports from other floor refinishing experts I found it hard to believe that he could actually refinish the floors to the level he said he could.Hence, I decided to replace the floors. After doing an extensive search for new wood and getting various quotes for this work, I was not satisfied with the look of the wood replacements or the price was too high. I then decided to go back to Alain and renew the conversation and review the situation with him. He guaranteed me he could refinish the floors and remove all the scarring and deep scratches and dark stains from dog urine.Alain indeed lived up to his word and was able to accomplish what none of the other floor finishing experts were able to do. I was delighted with the end result. After seeing how Alain approached his work; with passion and commitment, I thought of him as more of an accomplished craftsman with the skill of a dying art that few other possess. Matching Alain’s incredible skill, is his integrity and honesty as a businessman. I would highly recommend Alain from Woodfellow Flooring to anyone that needs a solution to remedy their precious floor restoration.

Alain did such an impressive job of restoring and refinishing my 1956 oak floors. They look brand new. He is a skilled craftsman, creating beautiful new cold air return grates and transition strips to finish the job. His attention to detail was very welcomed. He also works in a timely manner and is very conscientious about keeping the job site organized and clean. I would highly recommend him.
Alain did a fantastic job refinishing our engineered flooring. His knowledge & expertise enabled him to complete the job quickly & efficiently, finishing the job ahead of schedule. He was professional at all times and exceeded our expectations to deliver a refinished floor that looks as good as new.
