Can't recommend enough. Heather, Yelisa & Liana were wonderful with all my questions leading up to the install and Gustavo C. was next level professional and detail oriented- leading the install. Would use them again in a heartbeat!

The experience with Schmidt Custom Flooring was outstanding from start to finish. We needed our floors refinished after almost 20 years. They took the time to fill in some gaps and removed stains and scuff marks. The floors look brand new! The communication was excellent throughout the entire process. Exceptional Hardwood Installation & Integration
The flooring work at my home space is masterclass in clean lines and seamless transitions. Installing new hardwood in a home with multiple levels, angled features, and existing stonework is a high-difficulty task, and their execution here is flawless.

The use of matching wood for the stair treads and the clean white risers creates a modern, high-contrast look that bridges the two levels perfectly.
* Precision Cuts Around the Fireplace: One of the most impressive technical aspects of this job is the scribing around the stone hearth. The boards meet the irregular texture of the stone with tight, clean tolerances, eliminating the need for bulky transition strips or excessive caulking.
* Consistent Grain and Tone: The installer showed great care in "racking" the floor—distributing the natural variations in the wood grain and color across the entire expanse. There are no distracting "clusters" of dark or light boards, resulting in a balanced, high-end feel.
* Seamless Transitions: The boards run straight and true through the open-concept transitions. The alignment from the main room through to the staircase demonstrates a high level of planning and craftsmanship.
Technical Observations
* Expansion Gaps: The perimeter work near the baseboards appears consistent and professionally spaced, ensuring the floor can breathe without buckling.
* Finish Quality: The satin/semi-gloss sheen is applied evenly across the entire surface, highlighting the natural oak beauty without being overly reflective or showing lap marks.

Miguel J was so great fixing our floors. We had a bad leak from our dishwasher that warped our hardwood. He fixed everything efficiently using the least amount of materials. Even trimmed the metal paneling and varnished, as needed. Quick, easy and convenient. A true expert.
