Michael Norris was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He is very knowledgeable at what he does, pricing was good, and is just an all around good person. Do yourself a favor if you are looking for flooring and other related items and give Michael a call today. You will not be disappointed!

Mixed Experience with Bob's Carpet

We were initially really happy with our experience at Bob’s Carpet. The laminate flooring material was beautiful, and the pricing was excellent. It felt like we were getting a great deal on quality floors.

However, the installation process left a lot to be desired. The crew arrived in March, and right away we noticed bubbles under the floor due to poor leveling—something that should have been handled properly from the start. Even worse, one of the installers cut into our brand-new carpet—something they were not supposed to touch at all and did so without asking.

We asked them to come back and fix the floor. That involved two extra days of work and even giving up a Saturday to oversee it. After that, they had to return again to repair and stretch the carpet they damaged—another job that shouldn’t have been needed in the first place.

Now it's June, and we’ve noticed parts of the floor lifting. We scheduled an appointment for July, but when the day came, we found out they never officially booked us.

Overall, while we loved the product and the price, the follow-through, scheduling, and quality of workmanship have been frustrating. I really hope they improve their installation team and communication, because the materials deserve better execution.

Last year I got carpet and vynil for my house, a lady associate took care of me, and they did not do a good job so I don't recommend them for you to do your flooring, because:
1: After I explained what color of vynil I want for for my stair she put the wrong color on the contract, and later when finished the job I saw the color is not what I wanted and called her, she even did not talk to me, later their manager said if I want to change the color I have to pay again.
2. They measured the second floor for carpet, and skipped the walking closet, so everywhere was new carpet exept for the closet that was same old and different color.
3. exactly after one year I see the glue coming off the carpet in my bedroom, and the carpet began to detach from the floor.
They never said sorry, and even before finishing the service they asked me for the rest of the money and that lady who I had talked to never showed up again and even she did not answer to my email or phone call.
They are not professional and responsible for what they do.

new - 2 months ago that happened with the carpet, and know look what happende to the vynil, it is broken. what they are doing is good just for one year, the vynil also is broken in 13 month, I am very disappointed and upset because I had other options even cheaper than Bob's but I did not consider them and I th0ught they are good, I am very sorry that had business with them. I don't recommend this company. Every thing they do is good just for one year and charge you more, just look at the pictures.

UPDATE - READ BELOW:

I'm really disappointed because we had a great experience with Bob's in Wesley Chapel before.

Carpet installation finished earlier today. Every room has loose edges that lift away from the subfloor and padding. Some of these areas are several feet long. Other areas in the center of the floors can be tented several inches up with a light pinch of the material between my fingers.

Carpeting on the stairs is also extremely loose with several areas that area are entirely unsecured by tack strips or adhesive. This was not the case for the outgoing carpet.

Both kids bedrooms have loose material, frayed edges and visible rippling/bubbling of carpet over the subfloor. It's unsightly but worst of all it's unsafe. Loose carpet on stairs is a major trip hazard and we have children.

The entire job must be redone to repair the unacceptable worksmanship. It's a major inconvenience for my family and I won't be paying the balance until it's done right.

I couldn't leave a message at this location because there's was no way to do so. Line just rang and rang as of 330p Tuesday afternoon 8/29.

UPDATE - 9/21

Install team for the carpet RE-INSTALLATION arrived without enough carpet to properly repair all the issues the original installation team caused. GM from the store Debra M clearly told me and my wife that the "entire [carpet] would have to be replaced" to account for all the messy seams, frayed edges and loosely secured material. Today, the installer arrived with a complicated handwritten chart that detailed how to deconstruct the carpet and patch it back together so that all areas needing attention would be recovered. Only a minimal amount of new material was ordered because leadership determined it was better than replacing everything (as was explicitly discussed with me at the outset of this nightmare).

The very competent installer quickly concluded the new, cheaper, solution was inappropriate and, in fact, impossible given the nature of the mistakes he was charged with fixing. In short, he did not have what he needed to get the job done because someone at Bob's had decided to cut corners and take a shot at fixing things on the cheap.

They've wasted my time and theirs and will still wind up replacing all of my carpet, but heaven knows it will take weeks to months.

I've contacted corporate and begun the process of escalation.

My review remains 1 out of 5 stars.

We contracted with Bob's to replace over 3,000 sqft of our 19 year old flooring (tile and carpet). It was a huge expense for us and wanted a fair deal with great services.

We liked that they were a one stop shop for everything, sizing, ordering, delivery, demo, install of 1,000 sqft of tile to install of 3,000 sqft of long board lvp. We got a problem they handle it PERIOD!

We wanted a wood or similar floor that was consistent throughout the house, floating, wide planks (7" or wider) and long. We have grandchildren, dogs, pool. We wanted a flooring that was easy to pull-up, clean, waterproof and more importantly durable. We selected a 9 1/2"x70" lvp longboard planks by cali bamboo. I researched the extensively, reading countless reviews.

They or shall I say Judy answered our countless and endless questions with dignity and respect. They educated us in the entire process. Judy even called us on her time off with her family.

Demo day:
Emerson and his demo team was quite frankly beyond good, more exceptional. Emerson and his team covered everything. They took out 1,000 sqft of our tile and cleaned up all in one day, done by 5:30. When I say cleaned, vaccumed. broomed, chiseled under baseboards, wiped countertops, everywhere. They moved and moved everything out of the way, then put it all back. When they were done, no or very little dust. My wife was very nervous about this step, she hated messes of any sort. She ended up thrilled.

Install week:

The flooring installers Jason and Jason were hard working men. They removed carpets, vaccumed and vaccumed. Installed over 3,000 sqft of long board lvp over vapor barrier over every inch of concrete. Their expertise is phenomenal. Their attention to detail and skills are beyond reproach. I am an avid woodworker and appreciate exceptional skill.

Jason and Jason completed the stair case. It turned out beautiful and well constructed. The finish work, caulking edges, overlap of each step was consistent.

Nothing broken or damaged!!!!!

Some things they do not do is paint your baseboards or quarter round ends when done, I knew this and paint them myself. I painted the new quarter round prior to install and had recently painted my baseboards, so no big deal. The reason for painting baseboards is new flooring is not as thick as tile so quarter round is below where original quarter round on tile was.

We could have found demo crews, installers but would have saved some cash. Frankly, I choose to go with Bob's due their reputation and length of time in business and their stellar reviews.
