Reviews often highlight fast scheduling, including same-day help, and technicians who explain issues and pricing clearly. Many customers mention efficient spring and opener repairs and courteous on-site service. A smaller number of reviews raise concerns about pricing expectations and service-call fees, suggesting to confirm costs in advance. Overall sentiment trends strongly positive with praise for professionalism and quick turnaround.

Tom is an excellent and very friendly tech. Know his stuff inside out and changed the required garage parts (rail, etc.) skillfully and efficiently. He knows his trade well, is very patient, and explains what went wrong clearly. I enjoyed working with him and will not hesitate to call him again in case I need other work with my garage opener mechanism. Thank you- Ram Tenkasi

Drew Starck on Pop's Garage Doors

SCAM ALERT - BEWARE - Had them out years ago to install a new spring and their price was on the high end but fine enough to proceed. Had a cable come off the guide/spindle and called them out. They said it would be a $29 fee for the service call but that would come off the service. I agreed thinking the call wouldn't be unreasonable and I had limited time to deal with the garage door that day. Plus, I dont like messing with things I don'tknow about without doing research. I was wrong. They quoted me $480 (minus a small discount for repeat customer) for a job that would take the tech 10 minutes and required no parts. I know this as after I told him absolutely not, I did a bit of research and the fix ended up taking me 20 minutes and the only tool was a pair of vice grips.

After the tech left I texted the office and explained my frustrations with the absurdly unreasonable quote. They at first denied my refund request saying it was 'no pressure' quote, but I explained that by charging a service call fee that is "deducted" from the service it absolutely is a pressured quote. Eventually they agreed to issue a refund and said the check would be sent out the next Monday. That was 3 months ago. I followed up after 1 month and got no reply. After 2 months I followed up again and got a reply that they would "follow up with the owner" but no further reply. At 3 months now I sent another message and got no reply.

Michael was excellent! He assessed my broken garage door opener, gave me a fair price with no pressure to replace things unnecessarily (unlike other estimates I'd received), and completed the work efficiently. His honesty and straightforward approach made it easy to approve the job on the spot. Highly recommend!

Our garage door spring popped yesterday and we found out early in the morning which was one of the coldest mornings of the year. Called Pop's and they got us a same day appointment on a Sat. between 9-11am which was great since there's a snow storm on the way. Michael contacted us and arrived at 830 and the job was completed within an hour. We are so grateful for professional, friendly and quick service. Stay safe!

Very professional, courteous, and timely. Michael is knowledgeable. He did an excellent job and was done within about 20 minutes. He communicated well about the issue with my garage door and I will be recommending Pop's Garage Doors to friends and neighbors. I wish my dealings with technicians were always this seamless. He also greased the parts that were squeaky and it makes a world of difference. One bracket had fallen off and the door was stuck.

Frequently Asked Questions

Scheduling is available every day and many repairs can be handled the same day, subject to technician availability. Call to check current openings and describe the issue so the technician can arrive with the right parts. If a special-order part is needed, the team will provide timing and options. Emergency timing may vary during peak weather or high-demand periods.

Common calls include broken springs, snapped or off-spool cables, bent tracks, worn rollers and hinges, and opener or safety sensor issues. Technicians also address noisy operation, damaged weather seals, and door balance problems. If a door is stuck, avoid forcing it and contact support for guidance. Photos or a brief description can help speed diagnosis.

Many opener issues are repairable, such as sensor alignment, travel limits, or drive components. If the motor is failing or the unit lacks safety or connectivity features you want, replacement may be recommended. A technician will explain repair versus replacement costs so you can choose. They can also program remotes and keypads during the visit.

Periodic lubrication of hinges, rollers, and springs, along with checking balance and hardware, helps reduce wear. Keep tracks clear of debris and test safety reversal features regularly. An annual tune-up can identify worn parts before they fail. Ask about recommended products and a maintenance interval suited to your door’s usage.

You can request a service call and discuss estimated ranges for common repairs when you book. Final pricing depends on on-site diagnosis, parts needed, and labor time. If there is a service-call fee, ask how it applies to approved work. Technicians review options and costs before proceeding.
