I was in need of a new motor and replacement of bent panels. I received estimates for both and saw that they were slightly cheaper than another place I called. Technician showed up on time and was awesome explaining everything. Once he was done, he walked me through everything and left the place with no trace of trash. I would definitely go with Horizon again in the future. I was surprised with the 5% credit card fee but they offer so many other payment options.
Excellent work. Quick, respectful and informative. They came within a few hours and fixed my garage door by replacing the springs. The technician was polite and explained everything. He gave me options and I felt comfortable with my purchase. It was expensive, however, with how convenient he made it, I pulled the trigger and made the purchase.Thank you!
A technician came to my home on 11/26 to give me an estimate for a garage door repair. When he first looked at the door, he told me the first panel could be replaced because that was the only damaged section. I asked for a price quote. He stepped outside for about five minutes to call his manager. When he came back, his story completely changed. He suddenly told me his manager said the panel could not be repaired and that the entire garage door had to be replaced. I asked why, and he claimed the door was a special order, discontinued, and that they would need to install something similar instead. He then quoted me 2,600 dollars for a new door, with another option costing 3,200 dollars.I asked for 24 to 48 hours to get more quotes and to contact the original company that installed the door. He told me that was unnecessary and insisted that every company would tell me the same thing. He kept repeating that the door could not be repaired and made it seem like I had no other choice but to pay the deposit. This morning, 11/28, I called around. Another company came out at 5 pm and repaired the door in 30 minutes. It cost me 575 dollars.I understand that businesses need to make money, but they should do it honestly.
If you want someone to come to your house late, try to rip you off and upsell you then this is the business for you. We had a gentleman come to our home who told us it was going to cost $800 to repair 2 springs. I told him it seemed high. He called his boss and they gave me 20% off. Didn’t sit well. On top of that he said he recommended we replace the unit its self and offered 20% off of $1800. Long story short we said no thanks. He eventually went down as far as $400 for the springs with cheaper parts and $1000 for everything to replace the unit itself. He left our house and drove down the street. His bosses called and asked what the problem was, as to why we didn’t take the deal. He then went on to tell me his technician didn’t explain himself well but the reason it was so expensive was due to us having an old garage door and they had to redo the pulley system. So I called another local company the next day. They came out and fixed it for $238. What a deal! Stay away from these businesses that have over 1K+ reviewers and at 5 or 4.9 stars especially if they are not located local. They use different names but all are under some umbrella company. They don’t speak very good english. They tell you they live far away are pressure you into taking the deal. Thankful for my gut instinct.
