My installer Kakha was truly amazing. He noticed that the garage door opener was not set up correctly and very kindly fixed it for me. It works a lot quieter and smoother. Install was flawless. Very disappointing experience. From the start, there was a lack of transparency. I found a similar door on their own website in the clearance section for $500, but the salesman told me I was wrong and didn’t believe me until I pulled up the website and showed him myself. At no point was I proactively told I could save $1,500 by choosing clearance.On installation day, I was told my existing motor didn’t work and that the cheapest replacement they had was $700. Instead of being pressured, I went to Home Depot and bought a motor for $250 that works perfectly. The next day, I discovered my original motor actually worked after about 10 minutes of tinkering. That’s concerning.The project manager, Chris, stopped answering his phone on install day and later attempted to increase the installation price and charge my card without providing a final invoice or total. Completely unacceptable.After installation, there was a noticeable gap on the right side of the door big enough for a mouse to get through. Chris blamed my concrete and said he’d follow up with a solution. He never did.Poor communication, questionable pricing practices, and no accountability. I would not recommend this company.
From my initial online inquiry to Mikes visit was totally professional. Mike arrived on time which was appreciated. The use of technology to support the process was excellent. The true value was Mikes approach and knowledge to explaining product/service offerings and options. We are still considering our options but so far our engagement with Dodd's Garage Doors has been very positive.
We had our door installed by Dodds about 3 years back, we chose them because they had been in business since the 1950's, won lots of awards and they seemed to have good reviews. The installation went very smoothly and it improved our curb appeal 100%, even our neighbors commented on it as well and went with Dodds as well as a result! That said, it wasn't the least expensive option, but I feel that you get what you pay for, and this is no exception!Fast forward to last night, we had a vandalism incident where some kids wrote a slang for 'poo' on our garage in spray paint, and Denise at Dodds was outstanding! We were able to remove about 98% of it with her guidance for less than a cup of coffee (b/c inflation), and it felt like she cared, I'm SURE if we had gone with a lesser installer they would not have cared, and surely not as much as Denise!11/10 would use Dodds again.
